In a barangay where farmers work hard by giving all their sweat and blood yet remain restrained by debt and uncertainty, Singising tells the true story of the Conconig East Farmers MPC, a cooperative built on determination and the refusal to surrender to hardship. Behind the cooperative is Delia Evangelista, a young girl who once wondered why her father, Tatay Ernesto, worked tirelessly yet owned nothing. As she grew, she became the voice of hope for farmers like Ramona, Sandra, Pedro, Tomas, and others who dream of breaking free from exploitation and the cycle of poverty that has trapped generations of farmers. On May 21, 1997, with a capital share contribution of Php 2,800 and 19 pioneering members, their cooperative built a small sari-sari store which served as their office. Through persistence and the support of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and Landbank, they challenged early struggles, and in 2001, DAR formally adopted the cooperative, providing trainings, seminars, equipment, and guidance to help it grow. More than just a story of farming, this is a depiction of the power of unity, proving that when the perseverance of farmers rise together, they become invincible.
