In the intense and breathtaking matches for badminton for the four categories, Candon National High School (CNHS) Thuderhawks triumphantly succeeded in capturing the victory for the Candon City Athletic Association (CCAA) at the Patpata 2nd Evacuation Center, September 21.

CNHSโ€™ Karl Galima triumphed in a pulsating Boys' Secondary Singles final, outdueling Jhay Bryant Cayat of Candon City Information Technology National High School (CCITNHS) with a decisive 30-23 score.

The PRISAA-SJI duo of Alchristian Earl Quidangen and Xian Scott Garrido overpowered CNHS's Ram Yossef Gonzalo and Gabriel Chadrei Savedra, securing the win with a 30-12 score.

CNHS tandem Arianne Jhoy Villanueva and Johnine Ry Tanglib defeated PRISAA-SJI's Wynnah Jaznhea Munda and Freya Galutan, clinching the final with a 30-21 score.

โ€œSince two years nakong hindi naka R1 malaking bagay itong panalo ko ngayon," said Galima, Gold Medalist, Singles Boys.

On the other hand, โ€œDuring the game hindi talaga mawawala yung pressure due to expectations from my coaches and teammates," said Jhay Bryant Cayat, Silver Medalist, Singles Boys.

Despite the fierce on-court battles, all the athletes demonstrated not only strong collaboration but also true sportsmanship toward one another, representing their respective schools with honor.

CNHS Badminton Players Karl Galima for Singles Boys and the formidable duo Arrianne Jhoy Villanueva and Johnine Ry Tanglib, slated for Secondary Girls Doubles, punched their tickets to the regional showdown after capturing gold medals at the recent CCAA.

With precision and immense focus, Candon National High School (CNHS) Thunderhawks won in archery during the Candon City Athletic Association (CCAA) Meet 2025 staged at Saint Joseph Institute Archery Range, September 20โ€“21, 2025.

The fierce archers of Green Crusaders took the top three spots in the 30-Meter category over the archer of Candon National High School Thunderhawks after consistent performances.

CNHSโ€™s Ryka Anaroset Abaya outperformed the Green Crusaders in the 50 and 60-Meter category following her earlier loss in the 30-Meter Category and clinching two Gold Medals for CNHS, leaving PRISAA-SJIโ€™s Reana Elaydo and Marchella Miranda to settle for silver and bronze.

The Green Crusaders competed against CNHS Thunderhawks in the 70-Meter Category but with Abayaโ€™s strong performance, she was able to clinch another gold medal to be added to CNHSโ€™s medal haul while Elaydo and Miranda of PRISAA-SJI followed with the silver and bronze medal.

Rising above tough competition, the Thunderhawks won the gold medal for the Overall FITA. Even with their efforts during the Team Events and the Olympic Round, the Thunderhawks trio Ryka Abaya, Ria Bonifacio and Jhana Tanglib placed second behind the Green Crusaders in the team and Olympic rounds.

Despite the competition, they all equally displayed sportsmanship. With that said, the Thunderhawks will represent Candon City in the upcoming Region 1 Athletic Association.

The Candon Civic Center erupted with cheers and applause as the Candon City Athletic Association (CCAA) 2025 Rhythmic Gymnastics Secondary became full of excitement and electricity, September 20.

Arriane Limon, as the CNHS' Thunderhawks hardworking representative gave her best, showing her agility and skill between her opponents, successfully bagging the silver medal in Ball, and bronze in Hoop.

Limon's passion in gymnastics gave her hope in her performance, executing swift and flexible moves to the judges, but her opponents were more skilled, giving her places in the podium, but was still very grateful for her place.

It was CNHS' first time in joining the thunderous event, so it had numerous things for improvement, and even if they didn't get 1st place, the spirit of sportsmanship will linger in their hearts.

The boxers from Candon National High School (CNHS) Thunderhawks punched their way to victory during the Candon City Athletic Association (CCAA) Meet 2025 by winning Gold at every weight category they joined at the event's Boxing Tournament, September 21, Candon City Trade Center.

During the Junior Boys Category (44-46 kg), John Lester Orpilla from CNHS Thunderhawks dominated the match against his opponent Carl Elixir Tavas from STNHS Mountain Warriors making Orpilla victorious.

The boxers from the Junior Boys Category (46-48 kg) also showed true strength as Iver Dave Galgaleng from CNHS Thunderhawks and Rhomel Manibloc from STNHS Mountain Warriors were up against eachother, both being neck to neck, but with Galgaleng's final blow to Manibloc's stomach, the match ended with Galgaleng's win giving another gold to the CNHS Thunderhawks.

While during the match of the Junior Boys Category (48-50 kg) ended quickly as Godwin Galanga from CNHS Thunderhawks swiftly Knocks Out Justin Acbayan from STNHS Mountain Warriors ending with a Referee Stop Contest (RSC) after Acbayan fails to resume boxing after resting giving Galanga the win.

On the other hand, since the Youth Boys Category (46-48 kg) only had one qualifier, Juan Paulo Ramos from CNHS Thunderhawks gets an automatic Gold Medal.

Lastly, during the match of the Youth Boys Category (48-51 kg), Julius Caesar Anover from CNHS Thunderhawks and Mark Angelo Pelayan from STNHS Mountain Warriors gave a fair match where both was not giving the other an easy time, the match ended abruptly as the judges decided to give Anover the Victory.

With the boxers from CNHS Thunderhawks never-ending will to give up, they were all able to bag 5 Gold Medals, advancing them to compete at the Region 1 Athletic Association (R1AA).

Candon National High School (CNHS) Thunderhawksโ€™ Jei-an Balbin displayed grit and determination in the Table Tennis Girlsโ€™ Singles Championship Match against Candon City Information and Technology National High School (CCITNHS) Cyber Eagles ultimately finishing with a silver medal after a hard-fought battle.

CNHS opened the match with confidence, securing the first set, 11โ€“7, and raising hopes of a championship run. However, CCITNHS came back strong, claiming the next three sets (11โ€“3, 11โ€“6, 11โ€“8) to seal a 3โ€“1 victory.

Despite the loss, Balbin proved her skill and resilience, showing that she could compete at the highest level. Her silver medal finish brought pride to her school, highlighting CNHSโ€™ continued strength in table tennis competition.

In a spine tingling display of skills, unbreakable defense and perfect blend of stunning offense with determination of the unbeatable champions, CNHS (Candon National High School) Thunderhawks clinched victory, 3-0, which pinned down CCHS (Candon City High School) Raging Marines in the Candon City Athletic Association (CCAA) Meet 2025 Volleyball Girls Championship, held at Calaoa-an Covered Court, September 21.

Joeia Ay-yad, the Most Valuable Player of the game, showcased tremendous talent as she contributed largely to the teamโ€™s victory with 6 attacks and 11 service aces.

Despite the bad weather, the teams showcased a perfect-blend of teamwork and sportsmanship, making the game with lesson learned in the volleyball glory.

โ€œWe were able to bring home the gold again not just because we have the best players itโ€™s about how we work together. Since halos rookie lahat ng kasama ko, nagkaroon ng malaking adjusment pero thankfully they listened to me as their ate and team captain. And of course learning from our mistakes because as our 3 coaches say โ€˜its either we win or we learnโ€™โ€, said team captain of CNHS, Kaylie Imperial.

Candon National High School (CNHS) Thunderhawks emerge victorious in the Chess Games, giving in all their best in reaching triumph, bagging 10 gold medals, six silvers, and a bronze, with their ex*****on of electrifying and fierce performance to their opponents, ISPSC Main Campus Library on September 20 and 21.

The representatives of CNHS who embodied the schoolโ€™s spirit, the chess girls team, Zara Yazzmin D. Contante, Danielle B. Pawilen, and Sophia Joy T. Enrado, and the boys, Bernard Erick M. Bello, Leonard Andrei D. Dumbrique and Mark Julius P. Manzano, showed their individual brilliance in their respective categories and demonstrated teamwork in the team categories, clinching several medals.

Despite the multiple categories, such as the categories Blitz, Rapid, and Standard, the CNHSians Chess Team aced through them, each player showed their own skills and cooperation which led to their triumphant win.

San Nicolas Covered Court was inflamed with energy as Candon National High School (CNHS) Thunder Hawks stormed to a remarkable 10โ€“1 victory over Dr. Ricardo Gacula Memorial National High School (DRGMNHS) Tidal Titans in the Futsal Championship Game, Candon City Athletic Association (CCAA) Meet 2025, September 21.

The spotlight shined on Collene Tracey Gadong, who stirred the crowd with four stunning goals, while her teammates, Cyrhene Mary Ganacias and Cyrish Ganacias combined for five more goals, proving their unstoppable chemistry on the field. With a sharp kick, Maria Janine Dumawa also put a touch on CNHSโ€™ performance. On the other side, Ronalessa Gaston fought courageously for DRGMNHS, making her teamโ€™s only goal.

One of the players of the winning team, Jahmiel Gadong said, "I feel blessed and delighted po but of course we couldn't have done it without each other, our teamwork, and especially with God."

Beyond the result, the game was more than just numbers, it was about passion, sportsmanship, and the unbreakable spirit of student-athletes who play not only to win, but also to learn and inspire others.

CNHS Thunder Hawks swimmers made waves at the Candon City Athletic Association Meet Swimming competition on September 20โ€“21 at the Candon City Olympic Swimming Pool, hauling an impressive medal tally of 1 gold, 10 silver, and 5 bronze.

Spearheading the cityโ€™s swimming roster were Vincent Ur-rehman, Josaiah Aday, Noah Santino Espinosa, Chaelwin Jewel Ardaniel, Steven Louis Macabiog, and Adrian Ganat, who each contributed strong performances that powered the teamโ€™s overall success.

Leading the charge was Ur-rehman, who emerged as the lone gold medalist after conquering the 200m backstroke. He also brought home four silver medals in the 1500m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 100m freestyle, and 200m breaststroke, alongside a bronze in the 200m freestyle. Aday added to the medal haul with a silver in the 800m freestyle and the 50m butterfly, as well as two bronzes in the 50m backstroke and the 4x100m freestyle relay.

Espinosa showcased his speed in the sprints, clinching silver in the 50m freestyle and bronze in the 100m backstroke. Ganat secured silver in the 50m backstroke, while Ardaniel delivered a silver finish in the 100m butterfly. Macabiog capped the individual efforts with a silver in the 100m breaststroke. Team CNHS also bagged two bronze medals in the relaysโ€”the 4x100m freestyle and 4x50m medley.

Behind the teamโ€™s success were their coach, Justine Vallejos and assistant coach, Adrian Doctolero, whose guidance and motivation played a vital role in steering the thunderhawks to their medal-winning performances.

With their thrilling championship match, the CNHS Thunderhawks showcased exceptional competitive spirit in their hard-fought battle against DRGMNHS, ultimately losing despite their efforts.

Key players Gacayan, Lopez, Barrios, Ragasa, and Bajarin demonstrated dedication, confidence, and resilience throughout the intense game. Their remarkable teamwork and camaraderie highlighted their commitment to Sepak Takraw, reflecting sportsmanship and the essence of competition even in defeat.

โ€œWhat we learned from this game is that chemistry is the key. We lost because we still need to build stronger teamwork and connection on the court,โ€ said the Coach of Thunderhawks, Johnrey Galletes.

The swift strikes and heated bastons of the Candon National High School (CNHS) Thunderhawk arnisadors created history at the well anticipated Candon City Athletic Association (CCAA) meet 2025 as they showcase talent, precision, discipline and the spirit of sportsmanship and claims triumph in Likha Anyo and Arnis Labanan Competition held in Candon City Civic Center, September 20 and 21.

Johnna Velasco lit the golden trail with her winning routine in Girls Single Weapon, followed by Nestor Anga-Angan Jr. with his own gold. Jerlyn Ganado and Jassen Gasalao carried the flag in Double Weapon, while Nydine Abaya and Xhander Gamata dominated Espada y Daga to add more golds.

The victory was enhanced by the synchronized events battles, as Anga-Angan Jr., Gamata, and Gasalao led the boys to another gold while Kylie Madarang, Ganado, and Ghlizelle Gadong won the Girls Single Weapon title. As evidence of their proficiency in all domains, Gadong, Abaya, and Ganado also dominated Espada y Daga and the synchronized double weapon.

The Arnis Labanan field grew intense with Kylei Madarang, Ghlizelle Gadong, Jerlyn Ganado, and Nydine Angela all clinching golds. Johnna Velasco fought fiercely but settled for silver in extra lightweight, still boosting the teamโ€™s medal haul.

The boys matched the glory as Xhander Gamata and Jassen Gasalao ruled their weight divisions, Aizen Ray Passion reigned in featherweight, Jethro Abainza struck in extra lightweight, and Nestor Anga-Angan Jr. claimed victory in half lightweight.

From the finesse of Likha Anyo to the fiery clashes of Arnis Labanan, the Thunderhawks soared unchallenged. With the CCAA crown secured, they now raise their blades toward the next battlefieldโ€”the Region 1 Athletic Association.
