During the 8th Senior High School Commencement Exercises and 10th Junior High School Completion Ceremony of Caningay National High School – Banga Extension, Dr. Darlene Grace Malsi, Principal In-Charge of the District of Candoni, encouraged graduates to embrace a values-centered life grounded in faith, integrity, and service.

Addressing the graduating class and the school community, Dr. Malsi introduced a symbolic acronym—BNHS—representing both the school’s forthcoming transition to Banga National High School and a life framework for personal and spiritual growth. Each letter reflected a core principle:
B – Bring the Word of God into your life, for in faith we find strength, wisdom, and purpose.
N – Nurture your life with values, because character is the foundation of true success.
H – Hope for the best, for every challenge is a stepping stone to greater things.
S – Serve with a smile, for joy in service creates impact that lasts a lifetime.

In a poignant moment during her speech, Dr. Malsi asked all completers and graduates to rise from their seats and walk toward their parents in a public act of gratitude. Students were encouraged to verbally express their thanks—many through tears, embraces, and quiet words of appreciation. The moment brought a heartfelt pause to the formal program.

Following the expression of thanks, she invited parents to gently place their hands on their children’s heads, evoking a biblical gesture of blessing seen in passages such as Genesis 48 and Mark 10. The symbolic act served as a spiritual commissioning—a collective acknowledgment of faith, guidance, and hope for the journey ahead.

Malsi's message emphasized that the true measure of success lies not just in academic achievement, but in building lives that uplift others through values-driven leadership and service.

In an address that offered heartfelt guidance to the graduating class, Caningay National High School Principal I Rose Lima M. Guita shared what she called “Simple 7 Lines to Remember” during the school’s 8th Senior High School Commencement and 10th Junior High School Completion Rites.

Guita’s message departed from conventional academic themes and focused instead on core values such as resilience, humility, and purpose. Drawing from real-life challenges and milestones, she encouraged learners to define success not merely by accolades but by the strength of character and the impact they make on others.

“Success is not just about reaching the top, but having the courage to keep going—even when the path is unclear,” Guita told the graduates, one of the seven lines she shared. Other points included valuing kindness over rank, embracing failures as tests of growth, and moving forward with faith despite uncertainty.

CANDONI, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL — April 15, 2025 (Tuesday) — Caningay National High School – Banga Extension held its 10th Junior High School Completion Ceremony and 8th Senior High School Commencement Exercises, celebrating the academic achievements of 66 Junior High completers and 59 Senior High graduates in a ceremony filled with pride, purpose, and inspiration.

Held on the school grounds in Brgy. Banga, the event was anchored on the theme “Generation of Unity: Partners for the New Philippines,” highlighting the role of education in shaping learners into active participants in national development.

Ms. Jennefer M. Jamili, an alumna of Caningay NHS–Banga Extension and now a faculty member of the same institution, served as the guest speaker. Her presence as both a product and pillar of the school inspired students to pursue growth with dedication and community spirit.

Dr. Darlene Grace Malsi, Principal In-Charge of the District of Candoni, addressed the graduates with a message framed around the school’s identity and its upcoming transition to Banga National High School. She introduced the acronym “BNHS” as a framework for character and faith-based leadership:

B – Bring the Word of God into your life, for in faith we find strength, wisdom, and purpose.

N – Nurture your life with values, because character is the foundation of true success.

H – Hope for the best, for every challenge is a stepping stone to greater things.

S – Serve with a smile, for joy in service creates impact that lasts a lifetime.

“As leaders, educators, and learners of Caningay NHS – Banga Extension, soon to be Banga NHS,” she said, “let us be guided by the values that shape not just minds, but hearts.”

In a moving portion of her speech, Dr. Malsi invited all completers and graduates to rise from their seats and approach their parents as a public act of gratitude. Students expressed heartfelt thanks—many with tears, hugs, and quiet words. She then asked parents to place their hands on their children’s heads, a gesture of blessing rooted in biblical tradition, seen in Genesis 48 and Mark 10. The symbolic act served as both a spiritual affirmation and a commissioning for the journey ahead.

Following her message, School Principal Ma’am Rose Lima M. Guita addressed the students with a heartfelt reflection titled “Simple 7 Lines to Remember,” offering guidance grounded in perseverance, humility, and purpose.

“Success is not just about reaching the top, but having the courage to keep going—even when the path is unclear,” Guita said.
“Your worth isn't measured by medals or rank, but by the kindness, integrity, and humility you bring to everything you do.”

She continued with five more insights:

“The real test in life is not in exams, but in how you rise after failure, how you lead with compassion, and how you serve with purpose.”

“Dreams are not just goals to chase—they are lights that guide your actions toward your purpose.”

“Never rush your journey. Every step has a lesson.”

“The future is uncertain, but it holds possibilities.”

“Go forward—not in fear, but in faith.”

The event was attended by parents, teachers, barangay officials, and other community stakeholders, all celebrating the fruits of resilience, partnership, and education.
