NEW AMBULANCE FOR CANTILAN
CANTILAN TOWN HALL | October 25, 2025 -Mayor Rodrigo L. Eleazar attended the turnover ceremony of the new Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV), led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles today at the Butuan Sports Complex in Butuan City.
The ceremonial turnover was highlighted by the handing of symbolic keys to various recipients from different provincial and local government offices in the CARAGA region, along with the President’s message.
The Municipality of Cantilan represented by Mayor Eleazar, personally received one unit of the said ambulance from Pres. Marcos. He also expressed his gratitude on behalf of the people of Cantilan.
Pres. Marcos in his message said that the initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to “build a healthier, more resilient Bagong Pilipinas where no Filipino is left without access to care.”
The PCSO’s Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program was launched in 2019 which supports the President’s directive for every city and municipality to have an operational patient transport vehicle by 2025.
Each vehicle costs approximately ₱2.3 million. Mayor Eleazar expects that this additional unit in our municipality will surely benefit the people and ensure that patients especially those in remote barangays, will have access to immediate medical care.
Since June 2022, the President said the PCSO has already distributed 1,540 units and is expected to hand over more within the year.
PCSO has allocated P1 billion for 2025 to purchase additional vehicles in order to fulfill its goal of handing them over to all local government units.
