𝐎𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐎𝐍 | 𝐓𝐚𝐭𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠, 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠: 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞

Anim na taon. Ilang libong pangako. Isang daan at labing-apat na milyong Pilipinong umaasa.

Sa gitna ng krisis sa pamahalaan, tumambad ang isang balitang mas masahol pa sa bulok na sibuyas—ang impeachment ni Bise Presidente Sara Duterte. Isang usapin na hindi lamang tungkol sa posisyon, kundi tungkol sa pag kuwestiyon ng kanyang integridad at pananagutan.

Noong Pebrero 2025, isang desisyong yumanig sa buong bansa ang ginawa ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso: inaprubahan nila ang impeachment complaint laban kay Bise Presidente Sara Duterte. Hindi ito basta-basta usapin ng pagkakawatak-watak ng mga partido o personal na away. Ito ay usapin ng tiwala ng mamamayan sa isang opisyal na sinumpaang magsilbi sa bayan.

Tatlong matitinding akusasyon ang nakadikit sa kanyang pangalan. Una, ang umano’y pagbabanta sa mismong Pangulo, sa kanyang asawa, at kay House Speaker Martin Romualdez. Ikalawa, ang mabilis at kahina-hinalang paggamit ng mahigit kalahating bilyong pisong confidential fund sa loob lamang ng labing-isang araw. At pangatlo, ang tahimik niyang posisyon sa patuloy na agresyon ng Tsina sa West Philippine Sea, isang isyung bumabagabag sa bawat Pilipinong mangingisda at sundalong Pilipino.

Pero sa halip na paglilinaw, panibagong ingay ang dumating. Sa halip na magsilbing ilaw, tila isa siyang aninong patuloy na nagkukubli sa likod ng kapangyarihan. Habang ipinakikita ng ilang mambabatas ang lakas ng loob na panagutin siya, tahimik ang ibang institusyon—tila takot, o baka kasabwat.

Sa kanyang panig, matapang ang sagot ni Duterte: hindi siya aatras. Hindi siya magbibitiw sa pwesto. At higit pa riyan, hindi raw sarado ang pinto sa ambisyon niyang maging Presidente sa 2028. Isang deklarasyong hindi lang mapangahas, kundi tila isa ring sampal sa mga paratang sa kanya.

Ngunit habang abala sa pagtatanggol sa sarili si Duterte, patuloy ang paghihirap ng taumbayan. Habang nagbibilang ng milyong pisong pondong hindi maipaliwanag, nagbibilang ng baryang ipangtatawid-gutom ang karaniwang mamamayan. Habang pinaglalabanan ng Senado at Kongreso ang kapangyarihan, pilit pa ring nilalabanan ng mga Pilipino ang gutom, kawalang-asa, at pagkalugmok.

Sa halip na harapin ang tunay na problemang Pilipino—ang mahal na pamumuhay, ang sirang sistemang pang-edukasyon, ang pag-abandona sa mga maralita—tila mas abala sila sa pamumulitika. Sa pagbibida ng kani-kanilang lakas. Sa pagtatanggol sa mga alyadong may bahid ng katiwalian. Habang ang taumbayan ay nakapila para sa ayuda, sila’y nakapila para sa kapangyarihan.

Ito ang masakit, habang lumulubog sa baha ang mga probinsya, lumulubog din tayo sa paulit-ulit na drama sa kapangyarihan. Habang nagtitiis ang jeepney driver sa taas ng diesel, nagtatalo ang mga senador kung sino ang karapat-dapat sa committee chairmanship. Habang nawawala ang kumpiyansa ng kabataan sa kinabukasan, ang mga mambabatas natin ay parang mga batang nag-aagawan sa laruan.

Hindi ito ang lideratong pinangarap natin. Hindi ito ang gobyernong karapat-dapat sa isang daan at labing-apat na milyong Pilipino.

Sa isang bansa kung saan ang hustisya ay tila mabagal, at ang kapangyarihan ay kayang itago ang kasalanan—ang impeachment ni Sara Duterte ay hindi pagtatapos ng isang kabanata. Ito ang simula ng pagtutuwid. Ng pagkukuwestiyon. Ng pag-aaklas ng katotohanan. Na kapag ang Kapangyarihan ay Itinatago, ang Bayan ang maglalantad.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗔 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹: 𝗦𝗙𝗣𝗦 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆

St. Francis Parochial School (SFPS) held its much-anticipated graduation ceremony at exactly 1:00 PM, marking a momentous and emotional milestone for the graduating students. The event began with a solemn and peaceful Holy Mass, where students, personnel, and parents came together in prayer and thanksgiving. The atmosphere was filled with reflection and gratitude as the Mass reminded everyone of how far the students had come. It brought back memories of their journey—moments of joy, trials, and growth. One of the most touching parts of the ceremony was when students offered simple flowers to their parents as a symbol of love and appreciation, creating a heartfelt moment of gratitude and connection.

Following the Mass, SFPS was honored to welcome guest speaker Atty. Jenny C. Obusan, a proud alumna from Batch 2013, who graduated as the class Salutatorian and is now a successful lawyer dedicated to the pursuit of justice. In her inspiring speech, she encouraged the graduates and completers to remain strong, to pursue their dreams with determination, and to always remember the values and roots that SFPS had instilled in them. Her powerful words connected deeply with the students, bringing many to tears and leaving a lasting message of courage, pride, and hope for the future.

For the graduating class, SFPS was more than just a place of learning—it was a second home. It was where they felt safe, supported, and truly seen. As they bid farewell to their teachers, classmates, and the school that shaped them, the graduates smiled through tears, holding tightly to the memories of the past four years. They now step forward to face a new chapter, carrying with them the love, lessons, and legacy of SFPS that will forever remain in their hearts.

St. Francis Parochial School, Inc. united families, students, and faculty in a joyous celebration of its Recognition Day held on April 10, 2025, at the school quadrangle.

The celebration was a day filled with pride and happiness as students were recognized for their academic excellence throughout the school year. The event began with the entrance of the achievers alongside their parents, followed by the personnel and administrators. Shortly after, a solemn prayer was led by Juris G. Jamito of Grade 8 - St. Nicholas of Tolentine.

The pride and happiness of the parents and achievers were evident in their smiles as they went up on stage to receive their awards. Students were honored not only for academic excellence but also for showing remarkable improvement and demonstrating leadership abilities.

The event concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from Mars De Vela, a Grade 11 student, who encouraged his fellow students to continue striving for excellence.

Grade 10 and Senior High School students of St. Francis Parochial School, Inc. participated in a three-day environmental camping event with the theme “Stewards of Nature” from March 26–28 in Mantabog, Vinzons. Organized by the MRBOC and coordinated by Mrs. Marisol Weber, the camp provided students with an opportunity to immerse themselves in nature and develop a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship.

The event challenged students to demonstrate their care for nature while fostering teamwork and adaptability in an outdoor setting. Various activities were conducted, including clean-up drives, waste management initiatives, and environmental awareness workshops. These hands-on experiences allowed participants to enhance their knowledge of ecological conservation and sustainability.

Beyond environmental efforts, the camp also helped students develop leadership, resourcefulness, and communication skills. Working in teams, they tackled challenges that required critical thinking and collaboration, reinforcing the importance of protecting and preserving the natural world.

The experience served as a powerful reminder of the responsibility each individual has in safeguarding the environment. Through this immersive event, students not only gained practical survival skills but also cultivated a deeper respect for nature—proving that even small actions can collectively make a significant impact on the planet’s future.

Selected students of SFPS participated in a Career Dress-Up event to showcase and embody their dream professions on March 13 at the school quadrangle.

With honor, confidence, and pride, students took the stage, proudly presenting their chosen careers. Each participant displayed creativity and enthusiasm in their presentation.

Through this activity, the school aims to encourage students to pursue their dream professions with utmost dedication and perseverance.

Students, faculty, and staff of St. Francis Parochial School, Inc. actively participated in the nationwide simultaneous earthquake and fire drill today, reinforcing their preparedness for emergency situations.

At exactly 9:30 AM, the alarm sounded, signaling the start of the earthquake drill. Students immediately performed the Duck, Cover, and Hold procedure before proceeding to designated safe areas.

Following the drill, the SDRR team of SFPS demonstrated the proper ex*****on of Duck, Cover, and Hold during an earthquake and Stop, Drop, Cover, and Roll in case of a fire emergency. The team also showcased proper rescue techniques for injured individuals, emphasizing the importance of swift and efficient response in real-life scenarios.

Throughout the activity, the SDRR team and faculty closely monitored the drills to ensure effectiveness and compliance with safety protocols. This initiative highlights the school's commitment to disaster preparedness and safety awareness among SFPians.

After a decade-long wait, Senior High School and Grade 10 - Mother Rita Barcelo students, along with SFPS personnel and Sr. Cecile Ibana, OSA visited the Manide Tribe on March 6, 2024, in Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte. This outreach initiative, led by Mrs. Marisol A. Weber, MRBOC Coordinator, provided a meaningful experience of cultural immersion and community service.

For four hours, students lived alongside the Manide Tribe, engaging in daily tasks such as fetching water and cooking meals for their host families. Their dedication and effort reflected their willingness to understand and appreciate the indigenous way of life.

The activity aimed to broaden students’ perspectives by exposing them to the unique culture, language, and lifestyle of the Manide people. It also fostered values of compassion, respect, and altruism, encouraging students to embrace cultural diversity.

This memorable experience left a lasting impact on both the students and the tribe, instilling lessons of empathy and social responsibility. The SFPS community hopes that the knowledge and values gained from this visit will inspire continued respect for and support of indigenous communities.

Sa bawat hakbang ng milyong Pilipino na nagtipon sa EDSA, ramdam ang tapang ng bawat isa na hindi matitinag. Walang armas kundi ang tibay ng loob at ang di-mabilang na kwento ng sakripisyo at lakas ng pananampalataya. Ang mga tao—mga ina, ama, kabataan na mula sa iba't ibang uri, ay nagsama-sama, nagtiwala sa isang pangarap: ang kalayaan. Ang tapang nila, ang malasakit nila sa isa’t isa, ang nagbigay sa kanila ng lakas upang magtagumpay, kahit sa gitna ng takot. Isang makapangyarihang sandali ng pagkakaisa, na ang bawat sigaw at dasal ay umaabot sa kalangitan, na sumasalamin sa bawat pusong naglalakbay patungo sa isang bukas na mas maliwanag. Ang EDSA ay hindi lamang isang araw, ito ay isang buhay na alaala sa puso ng bawat isa na naroroon—isang paalala na ang tunay na pagbabago ay hindi lang sa mga salita, kundi sa lakas ng pagkakaisa at tapang ng bayan na nagtaguyod ng kalayaan. Isang paalala na ang EDSA ay hindi matatapos sa isang araw lang, kundi sa bawat araw na patuloy tayong nagsasama-sama at lumalaban para sa isang mas makatarungan at mas maliwanag na bukas. Ang alaala ng EDSA ay patuloy na buhay sa ating mga puso, at sa tuwing babangon tayo sa mga pagsubok, naroroon ang EDSA, na nagtuturo sa atin na sa pagkakaisa at tapang, walang hindi kayang lampasan.
