Feast Day of St. Teresa of Avila

Today, we commemorate the Feast Day of St. Teresa of Avila, a remarkable woman of faith, contemplation, and reform. As a Carmelite nun, mystic, and Doctor of the Church, St. Teresa devoted her life to deep prayer and spiritual renewal, inspiring future generations to seek a closer relationship with God. Her writings on humility and perseverance, continue to illuminate the path of those who strive for holiness.

May the life and teachings of St. Teresa of Avila remind us to live with faith, courage, and an unwavering trust in God’s will.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | Today, October 13, 2025 — In celebration of the Feast Day of Our Lady of Pillar, students from Grade 10 OLP shared compassion and faith through an outreach program dedicated to persons deprived of liberty and to hardworking tricycle drivers.

In connection with the spirit of Our Lady, the students extended hope by distributing outreach packages containing hygiene kits and non-perishable food items — guided by the devotion of Our Lady of Pillar, who, according to tradtion, appeared to St. James to strengthen his faith and courage.

This act of service stands more than just charity and an act of pity — this outreach epitomize the same perseverance and divine guidance of Our Lady, reminding everyone that God’s love reaches all people, in all circumstances.

Feast Day of Our Lady of the Pillar

Today, October 12, 2025, we joyfully celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Pillar honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary, who appeared to Saint James in 40 AD while he was preaching in Spain — encourage him in his mission of spreading the Gospel, even though she was living in Jerusalem that time.

This feast reminds us of Mary’s loving presence and guidance in our journey of faith. Through her example, we are called to stand firm in hope and courage, trusting that with faith, God will always be our pillar of strength.

"Holy Mary, Virgin Mother of God, who was conceived without sin, I choose You as Lady and Queen of this abode. I entreat You by Your Immaculate Conception that You will preserve it from plague, sickness, fire, water, lightning and tempest, from earthquakes, robbers, wickedness of rebels, acts of terrorism, schisms, heresy, and sudden death. Bless and protect us, O Holy Virgin, and obtain for us the grace to avoid sin, and to be preserved from all other misfortunes. Amen."
