๐ˆ๐‚๐˜๐Œ๐ˆ | Earlier today, all Marian students gathered at the Mother Ignacia Auditorium at 3:00 PM for the official launch program of Buwan ng Wika 2026. The assembly formally inaugurated the institution's month-long celebration of the national language, providing students with an opportunity to reflect on Filipino cultural identity, heritage, and linguistic pride through organized academic and cultural proceedings.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š | Students taking Art Appreciation from the BSHM, BSBA, and BSCS programs visited the Ladawan Art Exhibit 2026, held at Balay Samarnon in Catbalogan City as part of the Tandaya Festival 2026.

Accompanied by their teacher, Sir Allam Lampara, the students explored the exhibit's theme, "Tinikangan. Katungtungan. Kabubuwason.", which highlights Samar's rich history, present achievements, and vibrant artistic identity through visual arts.

As part of the visit, the students participated in the Patnubay Dunong Activity: Art Talk on Basic Sketching and Coffee Painting, led by activity-in-charge Benedicto A. Reyes, Special Investigator I.

Organized by the Samar Provincial Library, the educational visit aimed to deepen the students' appreciation for local history, nurture creativity, and enrich their understanding of cultural heritage.

๐ˆ๐‚๐˜๐Œ๐ˆ | In a proactive effort to prioritize campus safety, St. Maryโ€™s College of Catbalogan (SMCC) recently conducted a comprehensive School Shooting Protocol and Active Shooter Emergency Drill.

This vital training exercise was spearheaded by the GPTA Officers, led by Ms. Ann Magbutay, alongside the SMCC administration. Showing great initiative, they invited and collaborated closely with the Philippine National Police (PNP) to facilitate the session.

Held at the Mother Ignacia Auditorium, the drill equipped students, faculty, and staff with critical, life-saving response protocols. By simulating real-world emergency scenarios, SMCC, its dedicated organizers, and local law enforcement aim to strengthen campus security, streamline communication, and ensure the entire community is prepared to react swiftly and safely in the event of an active threat.

In the presence of faculty members and the election committee, the prospective student leaders collectively swore to uphold the principles of integrity, fairness, and responsible leadership throughout the electoral process.
