Today, we pause to remember 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼, not just as a figure in our history books, but as a real person who dared to dream of a better life for every Filipino. 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼 𝗗𝗮𝘆 isn’t just about recalling battles or dates; it’s about honoring a man who felt the same fears, hopes, and frustrations we feel today, yet still chose 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁.

As we remember him today, may we reflect on the small but meaningful acts of bravery we can make in our own lives. Standing up for someone, speaking the truth, choosing integrity, and helping our community—these are the modern 𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼’𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁.

They were guided throughout the immersion by their Maritime Training Officers from 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗜𝗻𝗰.—𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝘁 𝗢𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝘂𝗽𝗮𝗻 for Marine Transportation, and 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗲𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮 for Marine Engineering.

During the 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, the students experienced real work on board. They learned about 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀, observed 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, and applied the lessons they studied in school to actual tasks. This hands-on exposure allowed them to understand their chosen field better and strengthen their practical knowledge.

The program was designed to prepare them for their future roles as 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 and 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀.. With the support of 𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧 and their 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀, the students gained essential skills, discipline, and confidence—bringing them closer to becoming 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀.

𝗛𝗢𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

This year’s HM Week was truly a fun and memorable experience. Everyone enjoyed exploring different booths, tasting delicious foods, and joining exciting activities. The whole event was filled with energy, teamwork, and creativity from all the teams.

We also witnessed amazing talent in every competition. From cooking challenges to cocktail mixing, each group showed skill, effort, and dedication. Congratulations to all the champions—𝙃𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙞𝙫𝙤𝙧𝙮, 𝘼𝙯𝙯𝙪𝙧𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙚, 𝙎𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙀𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙙, and 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨—for standing out in their categories and giving performances worth remembering.

To wrap up the week, the Food Bazaar brought crowds together with its tasty dishes and friendly competition. 𝙃𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙞𝙫𝙤𝙧𝙮 took the highest sales, followed by 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙩𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘 and 𝙎𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙀𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙙. Overall, HM Week 2025 was a celebration of passion, flavor, and unity. Great job everyone.

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The Isabela College of Arts & Technology, Inc. (ICAT) successfully commemorated World Mental Health Month on October 24, 2025, at the ICAT Gymnasium with the theme “Access to Service: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies.” The celebration aimed to raise awareness about the importance of mental health, particularly in times of crisis and uncertainty.

The program commenced at 8:00 a.m. with the student registration facilitated by the Supreme Student Council (SSC). It officially opened with a solemn prayer led by Mr. Jade Benedict D. Lappay, President of the Socio-Cultural Organization (SCO), followed by a warm welcome address from Dr. Novy P. Domingo, OIC of the Office of the President. In her message, Dr. Domingo emphasized the need to prioritize mental health and to ensure that psychological support services remain accessible to everyone.

Afterwards, Sir Rodolfo P. Agsalda Jr. introduced the guest speaker, Dr. Rachel S. Sy, RGC, RPsy, who delivered an enlightening discussion on psychological first aid. Dr. Sy shared effective strategies for responding to mental health challenges during disasters and emergencies, underscoring the vital role of empathy, awareness, and timely intervention in promoting well-being.

The celebration continued with creative and heartfelt presentations, including spoken poetry, advocacy videos, and a digital art showcase, each conveying powerful messages about resilience, compassion, and the importance of mental health awareness. These artistic expressions reflected the students’ collective voice in advocating for a more open and supportive community.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Sir Jan Mark S. Juan, who extended his gratitude to the guest speaker, organizers, and participants for their active involvement and support in making the celebration a meaningful success.

Through this event, ICAT reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a community that values empathy, understanding, and the continuous promotion of mental wellness for all.

Isabela College of Arts & Technology Inc, ( ICAT ) attends the Foreign Scholarship Training Program (FSTP) and 𝗘𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗺𝘂𝘀+CARAVAN.

ICAT attends the Foreign Scholarship Training Program (FSTP) and ERASMUS in the person of Mrs. Maria Clarisa M. Agcaoili, LPT, MAEd, the International Relations Officer.

The CHED International Affairs Service conducted the Erasmus+ Caravan - Luzon Leg and collaborated with the CHED Regional Office I to host the event at The Monarch Hotel, Calasiao, Pangasinan, on October 22-23, 2025.

This annual caravan serves as an avenue to deepen cooperation between the Philippines, the European Union, JICA, KOICA, STIPENDIUM HUNGARICUM, TECO and FULBRIGHT through academic exchange, mobility programs, and institutional linkages.

“The exchange of ideas created an atmosphere of curiosity and inspiration, reinforcing the event’s purpose: to empower Filipinos to dream bigger, explore global opportunities, and bring back knowledge that strengthens the nation’s higher education system,” said Dr. Al Gerald Barde, Education Supervisor II and CHED ROI Focal for Internationalization, when asked about his impressions of the event.
