To Ayrra Janelle Gutierrez, our Editor-in-Chief, who led with quiet strength and a strong sense of purpose.
To Maui-Ann Paet, our News Editor, who lit up all news with her love of the truth. To Vinshie Gumido, our Literary Editor, who infused ink with feeling and gave empty space beauty. To Crystal Diwa, our DevComm Writer, who brightened stories about the community with heart and hope. And to Butch Nerizon, our CIHM Contributor, who showed that there is no voice too small when it is one of the heart.
You werenโt just part of the Gazetteโyou were its pulse. You brought words to life and meaning to silence. You wrote not out of obligation, but for something greater than yourselves: for truth, for people, for change.
To our mentorsโMa'am Junie Mariano, Sir Edison Villanueva, and Ma'am Richelle Ramiro Pabualanโthank you for wisdom, patience, and belief in these young minds. You didn't simply teach journalismโyou cultivated purpose, discipline, and courage. Because of you, these students found their voice
Campus journalism is not easy. It involves late nights, constant revisions, missed meals, and doubts. But despite all those, you went throughโbecause the story was worth it, because truth was worth it.
Now, as you leave the newsroom and venture into new landsโwhether media, business, tourism, or educationโremember this: the Gazette is forever bearing your prints. Your legacy is forever etched on every page, every recollection, every lesson passed to those who will write alongside you.
This isn't goodbye. It's a gentle shutting of one book and opening of anotherโyou writing, led by your experiences, and fueled by the same fire that once lit up our tiny newsroom.
