Imus City launches First-Ever Digital Interactive Displays in Cavite public school
Imus City, Cavite (PIA) – Marking a significant leap forward in education technology for Cavite, the City Government of Imus officially turned over thirty units of state-of-the-art 75-inch digital interactive display units to Tanzang Luma Elementary School, the first of their kind in the province.
The formal launch, held in conjunction with the Department of Education’s annual Brigada Eskwela initiative, themed “Sama-Sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa,” aims to elevate classroom engagement and support literacy by integrating modern learning tools into public education.
Third District Representative Adrian Jay “AJ” Advincula emphasized the pressing need to address reading comprehension challenges among students in public schools.
"Many of our students know how to read, but they struggle with understanding what they read. With these interactive display TVs, we hope to change that by giving them a more immersive and effective way to learn," Rep. Advincula said during the turnover ceremony.
Mayor Alex Advincula echoed the congressman’s sentiments, stressing the importance of empowering both students and teachers through access to current technologies. He also announced future plans to further enhance the learning environment at Tanzang Luma Elementary School.
"We want our students to keep up with global developments and our teachers to grow their skills through technology," Mayor Advincula said. "Next year, we plan to install air conditioning units in every classroom to ensure that these computers and devices function optimally. This school will serve as our pilot project moving forward."
The interactive displays function like large-scale tablets, equipped with a built-in operating system and features such as internet browsing, media playback, whiteboarding tools, and annotation capabilities. Their interactive nature makes them ideal for dynamic, student-centered learning.
The initiative is a landmark moment not just for Tanzang Luma Elementary School but for public education across Cavite, signalling a future where digital literacy and modern instruction go hand in hand in shaping tomorrow’s learners. (RBF)
