AIRASIA REOPENS CEBU TO ILOILO ROUTE

Starting November 15, travelers from Cebu can now fly to Iloilo, Caticlan, and Davao. Tourists can start booking these flights as early as September 3.

"We look forward to further broadening opportunities in the tourism sector, helping generate jobs and ultimately contributing to inclusive economic growth," said AirAsia Philippines president and chief executive officer Suresh Bangah.

In July, the low-cost carrier said it was planning to buy 150 more aircraft, a few days after announcing a deal with Airbus for up to 70 A321XLR planes worth $12.25 billion

โ€œWeโ€™re looking to grow to 500 aircraft within the next 10 years. Thatโ€™s our projection for growth and also to increase our destinations from 143 to 175," Deputy Group CEO Chester Voo had told journalists.

AirAsia targets 7 million passengers this year and in the first half, it has recorded 3 million passengers. It expects more passengers in the second half due to the holiday season.
