Crispy Tawilis Recipe

✔️Ingredients:

½ kilo tawilis (cleaned and drained)
1 cup cornstarch (or flour mix with rice flour for extra crispiness)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
1 tsp paprika (optional, for color and flavor)
Cooking oil for deep frying

✔️Instructions:

1. Prepare the fish:
Wash the tawilis gently, remove the innards if needed, and drain well using paper towels. The drier the fish, the crispier it will be!
2. Season:
Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix gently to coat evenly.
3. Coat with starch:
In a bowl, add cornstarch (or flour mix). Roll each tawilis lightly until fully coated. Shake off excess.
4. Fry:
Heat enough oil over medium heat. When hot, deep-fry the tawilis in batches until golden and crispy — about 3 to 5 minutes per batch.
5. Drain:
Remove and place on a rack or paper towel to drain excess oil.
6. Serve:
Best served hot with spiced vinegar or your favorite dipping sauce.

Tip:
For extra crispiness, double-fry! After the first fry, rest the fish for a few minutes, then fry again quickly for 1–2 minutes until super crispy
