OFFICIAL STATEMENT REGARDING AI-ASSISTED BOOK COVERS
To readers, authors, artists, and supporters,
We would like to clarify the recent discussions regarding the use of AI-assisted cover design in some of our published books.
First of all, we want to make it clear that we only used AI-assisted tools for TWO of our newest book covers. The rest of our published books use either free-use resources, original designs made by the writers themselves, or commissioned artworks provided by the authors and their own artists.
In fact, some of our writers are artists themselves or already have their own cover artists working with them.
As a publishing house, we always aim to provide visually appealing and suitable covers for every story we publish. Before deciding to use AI-assisted tools, we first try to look for free-use resources and other available design options. However, for those two specific books, we could not find a cover that truly matched the vision and atmosphere we wanted for the stories.
Because of this, we decided to use AI-assisted tools as part of the cover creation process.
We also want to make this very clear:
Using AI assistance for a book cover does NOT mean the story itself was written by AI.
The stories are still written by real authors with their own creativity, emotions, effort, and imagination. The writers remain the true creators behind every published work.
We also want to emphasize that we are not against artists, illustrators, and professional cover designers. We respect their talent and understand the value of their work. However, custom illustrated covers are not inexpensive, especially for publishers managing multiple titles and balancing overall production costs.
This is not about lacking the budget to pay artists.
This is simply about being practical and making responsible decisions as a publisher.
The reality is that not all books sell in large quantities. Some titles only reach a limited number of sales, while publishers still handle various operational and production expenses behind every release. Because of this, we sometimes look for practical alternatives that still allow us to create visually beautiful and marketable covers while continuing to support more writers.
We understand that people may have different opinions regarding AI-assisted tools, and we fully respect those opinions. We only hope for understanding regarding the realities and considerations involved in publishing.
At the end of the day, our goal remains the same:
✨ to support authors,
✨ to publish meaningful stories,
✨ and to continue giving opportunities to writers and creatives.
Lastly, we sincerely hope that this issue regarding AI-assisted covers will no longer be blown out of proportion.
After listening to different opinions and concerns, we have already decided to use the previous cover artworks made by our artist for the two newest books of our publishing house.
We appreciate everyone who expressed their thoughts respectfully, and we also thank those who continued to support and understand our side as a publishing house.
Again, our intention was never to disrespect artists or replace their work. We only explored AI-assisted tools as a practical option during the cover creation process. We fully acknowledge and respect the importance, talent, and effort of real artists in the creative industry.
At the end of the day, we all share the same goal:
to create stories, support creativity, and help books reach readers.
No hate, no unnecessary negativity — let us continue supporting both writers and artists alike.
And to all writers Please continue writing. Your stories still matter, your creativity still matters, and your voice deserves to be heard.
Thank you for your understanding and continuous support for our publishing house.
