Hypocrisy — The Deceiving Mask

There’s nothing wrong with helping others.
It’s a beautiful thing — a noble act.
But tell me… have you ever helped someone close to you?
Someone who once stood beside you, believed in you,
and gave you their time, their trust, their strength?

Or is your kindness only for the distant ones —
for the people who can’t see the truth behind your smile,
for the crowd that claps,
for the image you want to keep alive?

That… is the mask.
The deceiving mask called hypocrisy.

Because how easy it is to help a stranger,
while forgetting the one who helped you rise.
The one who opened doors you now walk through with pride,
the one who believed when no one else did,
the one who said “You can do it” when you doubted yourself.

You called it “business.”
You called it “opportunity.”
But behind those words, someone sacrificed —
their time, their peace, maybe even their heart —
so you could earn your thousands, maybe your millions.

And now… where are you?
When that same person cries silently,
when their struggles are hidden behind tired smiles,
when they reach out — not for money,
but just a listening ear —
you choose silence.
You choose absence.
You choose to forget.

Sometimes, they didn’t even ask for much.
Just your voice.
Just your presence.
Just the simple warmth of “I remember you.”

But instead, you build walls made of excuses.
You speak of being “too busy.”
You hide behind your reasons.
You disappear —
like you were never part of their story.

Tell me, my friend,
do you still remember?
The nights of laughter, the endless chats,
the dreams you once shared online and offline,
the joy in small things,
the bond that once felt unbreakable?

Where did it all go?
What changed?
Or was it you…
who chose to wear the mask?

Because hypocrisy doesn’t always shout.
Sometimes, it smiles.
It donates.
It prays in public,
but forgets to love in private.

True kindness — it starts at home.
It starts with the people who lifted you
when your name was still unknown.
It starts with gratitude —
not the kind you post,
but the kind you show.

Remove the mask.
Look around.
Ask yourself:
Who have I abandoned?
Who did I leave behind in my pursuit of success?

Because at the end of the day,
fame fades.
Money vanishes.
But memories stay.

And the worst pain?
It’s not being forgotten.
It’s realizing that the one you helped —
the one you believed in —
chose to forget you.

So wear no mask, my friend.
Let your kindness be real.
Because the truest measure of a heart
is not how many you helped for the world to see —
but how many you loved when no one was watching.
