📢 PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT ‼️

Due to the continuous rains causing flooding in several areas of Cebu City, there will be NO FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES in all levels, both public and private schools. Classes will be conducted asynchronously until further notice.

This measure is to ensure the safety and welfare of our students, teachers, and school personnel. Everyone is advised to stay safe and continue learning through online and self-paced platforms.

For schools that have already started face-to-face classes today, please implement the early dismissal of students and personnel to ensure their safety.

We also remind all schools to immediately disseminate information to students and parents regarding class and schedule adjustments.

Tropical Cyclone Update
5AM, August 18, 2025

The LPA over the northern Philippine Sea developed into Tropical Depression Huaning.

No wind signals will be raised as it is unlikely to directly affect the country.

It may exit the PAR tonight or early Tuesday.

At 4 a.m. Monday, TD Huaning was located 520 km east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. It has maximum winds of 45 kph with gustiness up to 55 kph and is moving north northwestward at 10 kph.

GIKASOHAN ANG DRIVER SA TRAK HUMAN SA TRAHEDYA SA D.M. CORTES STREET

Makasubo ang nahitabong aksidente sa D.M. Cortes Street diin gi-angkon sa kinabuhi ni Gechile Lucion Beltran, 26 anyos, taga-Barangay San Jose, Cebu City. Ang biktima usa ka backrider sa motorsiklo nga gimaneho ni Roy Bontilao Borces, 34 anyos, nga nasamdan sa insidente.

Sumala sa imbestigasyon, ang puti nga Sino Howo tractor head nga gimaneho ni Teodie Punay Ycot, 36 anyos, taga-Barangay Tabok, Mandaue City, padulong sa amihanang direksyon dihang nakabangga kini sa motorsiklo.

Si Beltran napugos ug dagan sa Mandaue City Hospital apan gideklarar nga dead on arrival sa doktor. Ang driver sa trak atubangon sa kaso nga reckless imprudence resulting in homicide ug damage to property.

Ang insidente sa bangga sa mga motorsiklo sa S. Osmeña Sr. Avenue karong buntag nagdala ug dakong kalisang sa mga motorista ug mga residente sa lugar. Ang dalang Sergio Osmeña Sr. Avenue, nga kasagaran madasok, nasamok tungod sa aksidente.

Ang mga biktima, nga nagmaneho sa big bike ug fury-type nga motor, nagkinahanglan og medikal nga atensyon ug giatiman dayon sa mga emergency responders. Ang kakusog sa pagkabangga nagresulta sa pagkabungkag sa atubangan sa big bike ug pagkalagpot sa mga drayber.

Sa pagkakaron, ang mga awtoridad nagpadayon sa pag-imbestiga aron masuta ang hinungdan sa aksidente ug aron masiguro ang kaluwasan sa mga motorista sa maong dalan. Hinaut nga ang mga biktima makabawi dayon.
