WATCH: Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro on Tuesday expressed her full support for Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero’s upcoming bill that seeks to prohibit relatives of government officials from engaging in business with the government.
“It is about time. Dili nana moapil og negosyo ang Kapitolyo,” Baricuatro told reporters in Cebu, stressing that government should serve the public, not family interests.
Escudero earlier announced he would file a bill barring relatives of public officials up to the fourth degree of consanguinity or affinity from entering into government contracts as suppliers or contractors.
