A wonderful opportunity to deliver a message.
"Today, as we gather to celebrate the culmination of our children's journey through Playgroup and Nursery, let our hearts be filled with gratitude, nostalgia, and immense pride. It is an honor to stand before you, representing the collective voice of us parents who have shared in the joys, challenges, and triumphs of these formative years.
First and foremost, to the remarkable teachers and school staffs, we as parents would like to express our deepest appreciation for the professionalism you have poured into shaping the minds and hearts of our little ones. Through your manifestation of attitudes and values of love, care and patience in the conduct of your duties, you have undoubtedly instilled these same virtues in our children. While they may not fully realize it now, the imprints you have left on their minds and hearts will remain with them for a lifetime. Later in their lives, they will associate these values with you. They may forget your name, but they will remember that comforting and assuring smile on your face. Imagine the beautiful memories you have given them.
To some, this day may seem like a small occasion. But for us gathered here this is big. This commencement marks their first achievement on the path toward more challenging academic journeys ahead. They are transitioning beautifully with our support and presence when they need us the most. Let us cherish these moments because there will never be another commencement ceremony quite like this. Time is fleeting, and the next thing we know, they will be grown-ups going on their own. But for now, let us focus on making the most of today's moments. Look around you—at the children, the beautiful chaos they create, and the presence of everyone here. Close your eyes and etch these memories into your mind with the significance of this day. You will appreciate it even more many years from now because, indeed, we can never turn back time.
Later when we go out from here, treat them ice cream or anything they love, their joys are simple but deep and moving. During that time, remember that we have some explaining to do. Tell them in simple terms what this commencement ceremony is all about, tell them what congratulations mean so they will truly grasp the meaning of the occasion. Honestly tell them that there will be more milestones ahead, but that you will still be there at their side. Finally, give them a loving hug, a kiss and a pat on the shoulder. They need those and they matter. Good morning!"
