They say, “hard work creates success.”
And yes, effort matters — but Scripture reminds us of something deeper.
In Deuteronomy 8:18, God said: “Remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to create wealth.”
That means the power to build, grow, create, and prosper is not just human talent — it is God-given.
Sometimes we think wealth only comes from intelligence, connections, or opportunities. But the truth is, behind every gift, skill, strategy, and open door, God is the One who gives the ability.
He gives wisdom to build.
He gives strength to endure.
He gives favor in seasons of waiting.
He gives creativity where others see limitations.
But this verse is also a warning.
When blessings increase, pride can quietly enter. We may start believing, “I did this on my own.” Yet God reminds us to never forget the true source.
Wealth is not just money.
It can be influence.
It can be knowledge.
It can be opportunities.
It can be resources that allow us to bless others.
God does not bless us just to store up riches for ourselves — He gives us the ability so we can steward it with wisdom, honor Him, and become a blessing to others.
So if God has given you a skill, a vision, a business idea, or a purpose in your heart — don’t despise it.
Pray.
Work.
Trust God.
Stay humble.
Because when God gives the ability, impossible things can grow into abundance.
Never forget:
The source of wealth is not man.
The source is God.
And when we remember Him, blessings carry purpose.
