These are five Naruto characters who could have become Hokage... but history had other plans. 👀🔥

**Number 5 — Dan Katō**

Most fans remember Dan as Tsunade's lover, but he had a dream of his own: becoming Hokage. He was respected throughout the village, possessed a unique spiritual jutsu, and had the ambition to lead. Had he survived the Second Great Ninja War, he likely would've been a serious candidate to succeed Hiruzen.

**Number 4 — Sakumo Hatake**

The legendary White Fang was so famous that his reputation rivaled even the Sannin. Many shinobi respected him, and his leadership qualities were obvious. If tragedy hadn't driven him to take his own life, Sakumo could have easily become one of Konoha's greatest Hokage.

**Number 3 — Itachi Uchiha**

According to Hiruzen, Itachi possessed the wisdom of a Hokage at a remarkably young age. He constantly thought about the village as a whole rather than personal gain. Love him or hate him, very few characters demonstrated the same level of self-sacrifice and responsibility.

**Number 2 — Fugaku Uchiha**

As leader of the Uchiha Clan and commander of the Military Police Force, Fugaku already possessed political influence and leadership experience. Many fans believe that if Fugaku had been chosen as the Fourth Hokage instead of Minato, the Uchiha Massacre may never have happened.

**Number 1 — Shisui Uchiha**

The strongest Uchiha of his generation and one of the purest holders of the Will of Fire. Shisui wanted peace between the Uchiha and the village more than anyone. With his leadership ability, loyalty, and influence, he may have been the one person capable of preventing the conflict that ultimately destroyed the clan.

The biggest "what if" is this:

Which one of these candidates would've made the best Hokage? 🍃👑

Kakashi's face was one of the longest-running mysteries in anime history. 👀🎭

Want to guess how long fans had to wait to officially see it?

**More than 15 years.**

Kakashi first appeared in the Naruto manga back in 1999, but Masashi Kishimoto didn't officially reveal his full face until 2015.

For over a decade, fans were teased with masks, angles, and perfectly timed interruptions whenever his face was about to be shown.

And that's not the only interesting thing about Kakashi.

According to Kishimoto's editor, Kakashi was one of the hardest characters in the entire series to draw, second only to Sasuke. Even Studio Pierrot's design sheets contained detailed instructions for the exact dimensions of his mask and the placement of his iconic hair spikes.

Kakashi's physical build was also surprisingly realistic.

Across multiple official databooks, he consistently weighs **67.5 kg** at a height of **181 cm**. That gives him a BMI similar to elite endurance athletes and marathon runners.

In other words, Kakashi wasn't built like a bodybuilder.

He was built like a shinobi.

Fast.

Efficient.

And capable of fighting for long periods without tiring.

Maybe that's why the Copy Ninja could battle some of the strongest opponents in the series while still showing up late to every meeting. 😅⚡

What's crazier: the fact that fans waited 15+ years to see his face, or the fact that Kishimoto managed to keep the secret for that long?

Kurama has fought gods, tailed beasts, and some of the strongest shinobi in history…

But a few characters left a lasting impression on him for very different reasons. 👀🦊

**Number 3 — Kushina Uzumaki**

Naruto's mother was a kind and loving person, but from Kurama's perspective?

She was terrifying.

Thanks to her powerful Uzumaki chakra and the Adamantine Sealing Chains, Kushina could completely suppress the Nine-Tails whenever he tried to resist.

To Kurama, she represented a cage he simply couldn't escape.

**Number 2 — Madara Uchiha**

People often focus on Hashirama controlling Kurama, but Madara's treatment was arguably worse.

Using the Sharingan, Madara stripped away Kurama's free will and treated him as nothing more than a weapon of war.

In fact, Kurama eventually came to prefer being partnered with Naruto over being controlled by Madara.

That says everything.

**Number 1 — Himawari Uzumaki**

Yes...

Himawari.

The same sweet little girl who accidentally became one of Kurama's worst memories.

When Himawari awakened her Byakugan and struck Naruto's chakra points with a Gentle Fist attack, she knocked Naruto unconscious.

And because Kurama was linked to Naruto's chakra network, he got knocked out too.

Imagine surviving battles against Madara, Obito, and the Akatsuki...

Only to get folded by a child. 💀

Sometimes the most traumatic opponents aren't the strongest ones.

They're the ones you never saw coming. 🦊🔥

Not every broken Kekkei Genkai in Naruto is a blessing. Some of them are straight-up nightmare fuel. 💀🔥

**Number 5 — Shikotsumyaku (Kimimaro's Dead Bone Pulse)**

Sure, manipulating your own skeleton sounds overpowered.

Until you remember that your bones literally burst through your skin to become weapons. Swords, spears, drills—everything comes directly out of your body.

Powerful? Absolutely.

Comfortable? Not a chance.

**Number 4 — The Aburame Clan's Insect Techniques**

From the day you're born, thousands of insects live inside your body and feed on your chakra.

That's not a Kekkei Genkai.

That's agreeing to become a walking bug colony for the rest of your life. 🐛💀

**Number 3 — Smoke Release (Iburi Clan)**

Turning your body into smoke sounds cool at first.

The problem?

The transformation can happen unintentionally.

If a strong wind scatters your smoke form before you can reform your body...

You're dead.

One bad gust of wind and it's game over.

**Number 2 — Sakon and Ukon's Twin Fusion**

Imagine sharing your body with your sibling.

Literally.

Their Kekkei Genkai allows one twin to merge into the other's body, emerging whenever they want.

That's less of a bloodline ability and more of a lifelong nightmare roommate situation. 😭

**Number 1 — Zetsu's Body Separation**

Nothing comes close to this.

Splitting your own flesh apart, detaching pieces of your body, crawling around as living biomass, and then merging back together later.

It's effective.

It's powerful.

And it's one of the most horrifying abilities in the entire franchise.

Some Kekkei Genkai make you stronger.

These ones make you question whether the power is worth having at all. 💀🔥

Madara Uchiha might be the single greatest aura farmer in Naruto history. 😤🔥

These are his **five coldest moments** in the entire series.

**Number 5 — Perfect Susanoo / Infinite Tsukuyomi**

Most villains would be remembered forever for just one of these.

Madara unveiled the Perfect Susanoo, a giant warrior capable of cutting mountains apart with the shockwave of its sword swings.

Then later, he cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi and trapped the entire world in a genjutsu.

Either feat alone would define a character.

Madara did both.

**Number 4 — Fighting All Nine Tailed Beasts**

The Tailed Beasts are living natural disasters.

Each one has enough power to devastate entire regions.

Madara looked at all nine of them and called them nothing more than "filthy animals."

Then he proceeded to dominate them.

The disrespect was unreal.

**Number 3 — Arriving at the Fourth Great Ninja War**

This wasn't a battle.

It was a demonstration.

Madara appeared on the battlefield and casually tore through thousands of shinobi using taijutsu alone.

No effort.

No panic.

Just pure confidence and destruction.

**Number 2 — Humiliating the Five Kage**

The Five Kage united to stop him.

Madara's response?

"Would you like these clones to use Susanoo or not?"

Imagine being one of the strongest shinobi alive and getting asked that question.

That's a level of disrespect few characters could ever pull off.

**Number 1 — The Double Meteor**

Nothing tops this.

Madara summoned a massive meteor from the sky.

The Allied Shinobi Forces barely managed to stop it and thought they had survived.

Then Madara calmly looked down and asked:

**"What will you do about the second one?"**

A second meteor immediately appeared.

No speech.

No explanation.

Just pure, overwhelming dominance.

That's not a flex.

That's aura in its final form. 💀🔥

These are the **five strongest shinobi the Hidden Stone Village has ever produced.** 🪨🔥

**Number 5 — Kitsuchi**

The commander of the Allied Shinobi Forces' Second Division and one of Iwagakure's strongest Earth Release users.

His physical strength was incredible, and during the Fourth Great Ninja War, he even managed to send Kinkaku flying while Kinkaku was using Version 2 Nine-Tails chakra.

A true powerhouse who doesn't get nearly enough credit.

**Number 4 — Kurotsuchi**

The current Tsuchikage and granddaughter of the legendary Ōnoki.

She possesses Lava Release and has proven herself capable of leading the Hidden Stone into a new era.

According to the Boruto novels, she's also considered the most skilled genjutsu user among the current Five Kage, making her far more versatile than most fans realize.

**Number 3 — Rōshi**

The jinchūriki of Son Gokū, the Four-Tails.

Unlike many jinchūriki, Rōshi had significant control over his tailed beast's power and could utilize Lava Release in battle.

The fact that he survived for decades while carrying a tailed beast and became one of Iwa's greatest weapons says a lot about his strength.

**Number 2 — Mū**

The legendary Second Tsuchikage.

Mū mastered Dust Release, one of the deadliest abilities in the entire series.

His unique combination of Earth, Wind, and Fire Release created a Kekkei Tōta capable of disintegrating targets at the molecular level.

Add in his sensory abilities, invisibility techniques, and battlefield intelligence, and it's easy to see why he was feared across the shinobi world.

**Number 1 — Ōnoki**

The Third Tsuchikage and arguably the greatest shinobi Iwagakure has ever produced.

Like Mū, he wielded Dust Release, but he took it even further through decades of combat experience.

Ōnoki fought in multiple Great Ninja Wars, battled Madara Uchiha, carried the Allied Shinobi Forces on his back during the Fourth Great Ninja War, and remained one of the strongest Kage despite being well into his 80s.

Power.

Experience.

Leadership.

No shinobi in Hidden Stone history embodies all three better than Ōnoki. 🪨⚡🔥

Who do you think is the strongest Hidden Stone shinobi of all time—Ōnoki or Mū? 👀

[ #9] Hidan

Not really that surprising if you’ve ever watched Naruto and actually know how to power scale to at least a decent extent. He’s self admittedly the slowest of the Akatsuki, and showcases the most underwhelming feats especially compared to the other members of the Akatsuki. His only objective scaling is being relative to BOS Kakashi who’s not really that strong compared to most of Mid-Shippuden characters.

[ #8] Kakuzu

Reacts to Raikiri amped Kakashi and bitch slaps him, whereas Kakashi even without Raikiri (a speed amp) can match Hidan blow to blow Hidan in combat so that places Kakuzu above him. There can be arguments made for him being Base Naruto level, which I don’t necessarily agree with (at least not all the time), but then again, I don’t think Post RS Naruto is that much weaker than BOS Kakashi in stats. And no I don’t agree with any of the scaling that pits him to KCM Naruto’s level.

[ #7] Kisame

This is where it starts to get controversial. Base Kisame without having fused with Samehada or having V1 Bee’s chakra absorbed is hot garbage. He’s arguably inferior if not relative to Base Bee, whereas lower tier Shippuden characters like Taka Sasuke scale around that caliber. He’s definitely higher in this list in his Fused form, however I don’t know how or where to scale his Fused form, as I’m simply not knowledgeable enough of his feats or most of his scaling.

[ #6] Deidara

Reacts to Hebi Sasuke’s body flicker and his combat speed is debatably relative to him so that should pit him above Kisame, since Hebi Sauce is directly stated to be superior to Taka Sasuke who’s most likely around Kisame’s level of speed. And his C4 works against mostly anyone who doesn’t possess a Dojutsu similar to that of the Sharingan.

[ #5] Sasori

There are two statements regarding why he’s above Deidara, as well as him scaling above Jinchuriki Gaara who was physically superior to Deidara throughout their fight. Also debatably above the likes of Hebi Sasuke, and far stronger than him in Base. And no, he lost against a resolve amped Sakura who had the assistance of Chiyo so that should not be used as an excuse to downplay him.

[ #4] Konan

In Naruto Ninja Storm Revolutions, she straight up defeats Sasori which would potentially make her scale above him. However, the canonity of the game is often debated and it’s not as straight forward as Generations. Her Rain Village version probably scales to Base Jiraiya, however she does react to Sage Naruto and her combat speed is debatably above the speed of OM Obito’s Kamui due to one insane feat she has against Obito, with which he’s able to react to the Raikage, Sasuke, Naruto and so on.

[ #3] Pain

Stated to be the strongest Akatsuki member at the end of a chapter, although there’s multiple different ways you can argue against the statement, it should pit him above Sick Itachi and anyone on this list so far. Excluding Obito cause we mostly didn't know much about his position or relation in regards to the Akatsuki during the time period of this statement. Shows feats against Sage Naruto, 6 Tails Naruto, sealing him at the end, etc.

[ #2, #1] Itachi, Obito (Interchangeable)

Itachi speed blitzes Nagato twice who’s way stronger than just the Six Paths of Pain so I don’t think him being above Pain should be that much of a surprise. Also stated as equals to EMS Sasuke, shows relativity to KCM1 Naruto with just his Three Tomoe, etc.

As for who’s stronger between Edo Itachi & OM Obito, I think arguments can be made for either one winning against the other and you can scale both of them above the other with valid scaling, so it all depends on your opinion on this. Though I do think Itachi is the more probable winner cause I find his arsenal to be more diverse and haxed, as well as his scaling/arguments being more consistent and valid.

When people think of Itachi Uchiha in the Akatsuki, they usually picture him alongside Kisame… but a lot of fans forget that Kisame was actually his *second* partner. 👀🔥

His first Akatsuki partner was **Jūzō Biwa**, one of the infamous Seven Swordsmen of the Mist and the former wielder of the Executioner’s Blade before Zabuza.

And Jūzō wasn’t just a background character — he was already a feared rogue ninja from Kirigakure.

He had a reputation for brutality, and he was one of the surviving swordsmen who lived through Might Duy’s legendary Eight Gates rampage, which alone speaks volumes about his durability and combat experience.

After defecting from the Hidden Mist, Jūzō eventually joined the Akatsuki, and Pain assigned him as Itachi’s first official partner.

At first, their relationship was surprisingly professional.

Jūzō acted almost like a seasoned veteran guiding a younger operative, while Itachi remained calm, detached, and mission-focused.

Together, they completed multiple Akatsuki missions, including operations involving infiltration and intelligence gathering.

But everything changed during a mission in Kirigakure.

They were ambushed by Yagura — the Fourth Mizukage — alongside elite hunter-nin squads.

Despite being heavily outnumbered, Jūzō and Itachi managed to cut through most of the opposition.

However, the situation escalated when Yagura entered Version 2 tailed beast form.

A Tailed Beast Ball was launched during the battle, and Jūzō was critically wounded protecting the retreat.

In his final moments, Itachi placed the Executioner’s Blade back into Jūzō’s hand — a quiet, respectful gesture between two shinobi who barely had time to become partners before war cut their story short.

It’s one of those forgotten Akatsuki stories that shows just how much history exists behind even the smallest details in Naruto. ⚔️🌫️🩸

There are a lot of underrated jutsu in Naruto that fans don’t fully appreciate, and one of the most broken examples is the **Uzumaki Clan’s Adamantine Sealing Chains**. 🔗🔥

On the surface, they look like simple chakra constructs.

But in reality, they’re one of the strongest sealing tools in the entire series.

These chains manifest directly from the user’s chakra and body, forming near-unbreakable restraints capable of binding even tailed beasts.

Their main strength isn’t just raw durability — it’s *suppression*.

For example, Kushina Uzumaki used them to restrain Kurama during the Nine-Tails attack, showing just how overwhelming their sealing power truly is.

What makes Kushina’s usage especially terrifying is that she didn’t just use them externally.

She also used her chains within her own subconscious to suppress Kurama’s influence completely, preventing him from taking control of her mind.

That level of dual-layer sealing is extremely rare, even among jinchūriki.

She could also form massive barrier constructs with the chains, effectively trapping Kurama while also preventing external interference at the same time.

And it doesn’t end there.

During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Karin briefly manifests a similar ability, showing that the Uzumaki bloodline’s sealing potential can awaken in different ways under extreme conditions.

Even Orochimaru acknowledges the similarity to Kushina’s technique — although Karin’s version is clearly less refined and far weaker in comparison.

The key takeaway?

The Uzumaki Chains aren’t just a restraining jutsu…

They’re one of the clearest examples of why the Uzumaki Clan was feared across the entire shinobi world. 🔗🍥⚡
