Just woke up after the long, exhausting hours of serving in yesterdayβs election. My body aches and exhaustion is setting in but so is the quiet pride that comes from doing something meaningful.
From the early hours of assisting voters with patience and kindness, to the late night hours spent standing in long, slow-moving lines at city hall.It was physically and emotionally draining. But I held on, like so many of my fellow teachers did, because we believe in the importance of our role.
To all the teachers who gave time, energy, and heart salute to all of us. This was no easy task, but we showed up with dignity and grace. We did our part not just for the system, but for the people.
To the winners, congratulations. May you honor the voices of the people and serve with integrity, humility, and love for our country.
God bless us all!
