I finally understand why God had been delaying all my previous plans for a domestic flight. Sometimes we easily forget to be truly grateful for the things we have and instead focus on what we don’t. Always remember where you were not long ago—when what you have now was just a dream. I am not the most religious person, but I believe in God. In this moment, as our new pope appeared on the balcony, I felt his love for the billions of Catholic devotees. But I also sensed the heavy weight of fear—wondering how he would be able to lead so many people toward righteousness, serving God and placing Him at the center of the universe.

It must be an incredibly difficult responsibility, but I believe God has placed this path before him for a reason. He must see something truly good in our Pope Leo XIV—something that many of us have doubted or questioned.

Lord, the world needs a leader who can be a true example for our children and future generations. Please have mercy on us. Never leave our side; continue to guide us and love us.
