CCPO HONORED AS OUTSTANDING CITY POLICE OFFICE OF THE YEAR IN PRO 7 DURING THE 30TH POLICE COMMUNITY RELATIONS MONTH CELEBRATION

The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has once again cemented its reputation for excellence and dedication to public service by earning the distinguished title of Outstanding City Police Office of the Year. This remarkable achievement highlights the CCPO’s unwavering commitment to community-centered policing, exemplary performance, and collaborative partnerships that foster public trust and safety.

During the Culmination Activity of the 30th Police Community Relations Month Celebration held at the Police Regional Office 7 Headquarters, Camp Sergio Osmeña Sr., Cebu City, on July 31, 2025, the CCPO was formally recognized for its outstanding contributions.

A highlight of the event was the awarding of the Best Senior Police Community Affairs and Development (PCAD) Police Commissioned Officer to PCOL ENRICO EVANGELISTA FIGUEROA, Acting City Director of CCPO. The prestigious accolade was personally conferred by PBGEN DIONISIO B BARTOLOME JR., Deputy Regional Director for Administration of PRO7, in recognition of PCOL Figueroa’s exceptional leadership, dedication, and impactful initiatives in community engagement.

Representing the CCPO during the awarding ceremony was PLTCOL ROLANDO H BARRAQUIO, Deputy City Director for Administration, who proudly accepted the awards on behalf of the entire team. The recognition celebrates the CCPO’s steadfast efforts in fostering strong community partnerships, enhancing public trust, and implementing proactive, people-centered policing strategies.

Additionally, the Cebu City Mobile Force Company of the CCPO was honored as the Outstanding Revitalized Pulis Sa Barangay Team of the Year, headed by PLTCOL FERDINAND M CASIANO, CMFC Force Commander, further exemplifying the organization’s dedication to community-based security initiatives.

This recognition motivates CCPO personnel to intensify collaboration with various sectors and institutions within the community. It reinforces their resolve to create an effective and efficient community policing system to combat criminality, terrorism, and illegal drugs — ensuring a safer, more secure Cebu City for all.

Arestado sa buhatan sa Inayawan Police Station 7 gipanguluhan ni PCPT TROY JOHN A LALAMUNAN, hepe sa maong buhatan ang duha ka suspetsado nga nailhang sila alyas ‘BUTCHOY’, 48 anyos nga lalaki ug kauban niini nga babae nga si alyas ‘AGTING’ 31 anyos parehong residente sa Brgy. Basak San Nicolas ning Dakbayan sa Sugbo pinasikad sa buy bust operation niadtong Hulyo 28, 2025 didto sa Sitio Kanipaan sakop sa Brgy. Basak Pardo ning maong syudad.

Nakuha gikan sa ilang possession ang nagkadaiyang pakete sa gitoohang shabu nga mukabat sa php578,000 ang balor nga adunay 85 gramos ang timbang. Nakuha usab ang usa ka pitaka nga gitoohang container sa maong dr**as.

Kasamtangan nga nakadetained ang duha ka suspetsado sa Inayawan Pulis ug nag-atubang sa kasong pagpamaligya ug paghupot ug ginadiling droga ubos sa violations of Secs 5 and 11 Art 2 of RA 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

EX-TOP CTG PERSONALITY NABBED IN LAPU-LAPU CITY; LOOSE FIREARM AND SUBVERSIVE MATERIALS SEIZED

In a strategic police operation aimed at dismantling threats to peace and public safety, joint operatives of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO) arrested a former Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) member and seized an undocumented firearm, ammunition, and subversive materials during the implementation of a court-issued search warrant early morning Tuesday.

At around 2:00 AM on July 29, 2025, joint personnel of City Intelligence Unit, City Drug Enforcement Unit, City Mobile Force Company and Special Weapons and Tactics, Lapu-lapu City Police Office under the direct command of PCOL DYAN V AGUSTIN, City Director of LCPO, and the intensive intelligence supervision of the Regional Intelligence Division 7 (RID7), implemented Search Warrant at Purok Beauty in the Sky, Brgy. Babag, Lapu-Lapu City.

The subject of the warrant, a.k.a. Janjan Biory and Junnefer Biore , 48, and a former SYP GF 21-C, NEMRC member and ex-Top 7 PSR in CARAGA, was arrested during the operation. He is also known to have had multiple past arrest warrants which were previously dismissed.

Confiscated from the suspect were one (1) unit caliber .45 black pistol loaded with one (1) magazine, thirty-five (35) pieces of caliber .45 live ammunition, five (5) extra caliber .45 magazines, one (1) suppressor, one (1) belt bag, a red Libretto titled “Lima Ka Bulawanong Silaw” by Mao Zedong, and subversive documents titled “Impormasyon Alang sa Pag-apil sa Rebolusyonaryong Kalihokan.

Following standard protocol, the suspect underwent medical examination and is currently at the LCPO Custodial Facility, pending the filing of appropriate charges for Violation of Sec. 3 in relation to Sec. 28(a) of R.A. 10591 (Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

In his statement, PBGEN Redrico A Maranan, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 7, emphasized that this successful operation is part of the PRO7's intensified crackdown against loose fi****ms and potential threats posed by former CTG personalities hiding in urban centers.

“Under the directive of our Chief PNP, we are scaling up our operations to recover unlicensed fi****ms and neutralize the threats posed by former insurgents who attempt to revive their activities underground,” PBGEN Maranan said.

“We are committed to ensuring public safety and order while aligning with the broader thrust of the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP), providing a path for sincere returnees, but making sure that those who continue to violate the law will face its full force,” he added. (RPIO-PRO7)
