This statement right here shows why electing senators based on legal knowledge, experience, and competence is essential.

Receiving government funds or budget allocations for private or personal use—whether by an elected official or not—can constitute offenses such as embezzlement, misappropriation of public funds, corruption, or other criminal violations, depending on the circumstances.

Hearing such a poorly informed statement from a senator is concerning. We need to stop voting for celebrities and personalities based solely on fame and start electing people who actually understand the law, the Constitution, and the responsibilities of public office.
