Around 9:59PM Sept 30, 2025, a quake struck last night here in Cebu, we were right in the middle of preparing dough for our lactation cookies, while our son was busy picking up his toys before bedtime.
In the first few seconds, our little one noticed his water bottle about to fall. So instead of running, he ran to save the bottle first before dashing toward his father. 💨 Meanwhile, my husband’s “priority” was to make sure the prepared dough was safe in the fridge before we all gathered under the table. As the shaking intensified, we paused and prayed for safety.
After the quake, the internet connection went down and none of us could sleep, so we decided to continue preparing the dough. When the connection finally came back, we saw posts about a tsunami alert being shared across different media outlets. My husband and I had a spooky moment, remembering that very morning when our son told us about his dream, that a he witness a tsunami. Maybe he just got the idea from that scene in Alice in Borderland Episode 6.
But here’s what we realized: while calamities can shake our surroundings, what matters most is keeping our hearts calm, our family close, and our faith strong.
A big thank you as well to all the mommies who checked in on us last night. Your love and concern truly mean a lot.
To everyone who felt the quake, we hope you and your loved ones are safe. Let’s continue to be prepared, stay calm, and look out for each other. Disasters may be unpredictable, but together, we can overcome them with courage, faith, and maybe a cookie or two. 🍪💪
Stay safe, Cebu! 💪💛
