Miss Viy Cortez-Velasquez is one of the many who remind us that there’s no need to rush getting back to our old selves after giving birth.
The postpartum journey is not the same for everyone, and that’s okay. In time, we’ll find our own rhythm, and eventually, we’ll reconnect with the parts of ourselves we thought we lost.
It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor – every mother has the right to care for, love, and nurture herself.
Motherhood transforms you in so many ways; physically, mentally, emotionally and yes – it becomes everything. But it should never mean losing your identity or forgetting your worth.
So to all moms out there: Be gentle to yourself. Don’t compare your journey with others. Heal at your own pace. Take your time. Rest when needed. And remember – you’re not falling behind; you’re growing through one of life’s most powerful seasons.
For now, focus on your children. But as you pour your love into them, don’t forget to pour some into yourself too.
Because when we care for ourselves – even in the smallest ways – we become stronger, more present, and even better for them.
You are still you. You are not lost – just evolving.
