The Department of Business Administration officially opened Academic Year 2025-2026 with its General Assembly held last September 5, 2025, at the Michael Richartz Hall from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. The event brought together 3rd and 4th year students, faculty, and officers for an afternoon of learning, orientation, and inspiration. The program was warmly hosted by John Randolph M. Gregorio and Julianne Benedict Abrera, both from Operations Management, who kept the atmosphere lively and engaging throughout the assembly.
One of the highlights of the afternoon was the presentation of the Department Faculty, Policies, and Requirements by Maโam Ethel Dicdican-Catamco, DBA. She emphasized the identity of USC as a university since 1988 and reiterated the departmentโs vision to be a premier business and management school in Southeast Asia, molding students with social conscience geared toward societal transformation.
She also underlined the mission of producing competent and ethical business professionals, entrepreneurs, and economists who not only create and manage wealth but also distribute it charitably. In addition, Maโam Ethel introduced the organizational chart to guide students in navigating the departmentโs structure.
The assembly also featured an informative talk from Sir Jerico T. Bautista, Marketing Head of First Place Inc., on the USA Summer Work & Travel Program. He shared how the program develops independence, discipline, and financial responsibility while preparing students for successful careers both locally and abroad.
As he stated, โWe donโt just build careers, we develop character.โ He laid out the easy steps to join the program: get oriented, get profiled, get placed, get a visa, and depart. To further inspire students, a short film presented by Japhne Quizon showcased testimonials about cultural exchange and character building through the program. Afterward, Sir Jerico was awarded a certificate of appreciation, followed by a lively intermission dance from Deltaro.
Another key part of the event was the introduction of the SYBEE Officers, presented by Fidel Alcontin IV. He shared SYBEEโs focus for the academic year: (1) Serve as a bridge between the university and the corporate world; (2) Enhance internal operations to better serve students.
He also introduced the major events for each cluster:
IMAGE: Case Crackers
KAIZEN: Kaizen Plant Tour
FINANCE: Investalk
PRODIGY: 27th Entrepreneurship Fair
PEOPLE: Career Talk 2025: Future Ready Journey
To strengthen the departmentโs social responsibility, Sir Rammy Ydquila discussed the Community Extension Services (CES) System, including programs such as USC Paws, CARE Program, and Charity Days. He, too, was given a certificate of appreciation for his contribution.
The afternoon ended with an exciting raffle draw, followed by heartfelt closing remarks from project heads. Enrico Lanticse expressed gratitude to the speakers, while Dennise Cajes extended appreciation to the volunteers, officers, and technical team, highlighting their dedication to making the assembly a memorable success.
The Department of Business Administration General Assembly 2025 was more than just an orientationโit was a reminder of the departmentโs mission to shape future-ready business leaders while nurturing character, service, and social responsibility.
