From Prison to Profession: The Inspiring Journey of Daniel Quisa-ot, Engineer of Faith
Daniel Quisa-ot’s life story is a powerful testimony of faith, perseverance, and redemption. Once a scholar, Dean’s Lister, and Math Wizard, Daniel was known for his intelligence and discipline as an Electrical Engineering student. But just one semester before graduation, his life took an unexpected and painful turn, he was accused of a crime he did not commit and was imprisoned.
Behind the cold walls of prison, Daniel found himself in a world far different from the life he once knew. The noise, chaos, hunger, and sleepless nights inside the jail made every day a struggle. There were no gadgets for research, no access to resources, and no quiet space for study. Yet, in those darkest moments, Daniel refused to let his circumstances define him.
Instead of giving up, he turned his prison cell into a classroom. With only his faith and determination to guide him, he continued studying. Through the help and encouragement of his family, professors, friends, the university president, and even the jail warden, Daniel managed to finish his thesis titled “Design and Installation of Jail Alarm and Communication System.” It was a project deeply inspired by his own environment, a symbol of turning hardship into innovation.
Inside the jail, Daniel also found a new mission. He began sharing the Word of God with his fellow inmates, offering them hope and perspective. Through his kindness and faith, he changed the atmosphere around him, turning enemies into friends and despair into renewed faith. His wrongful imprisonment became a ministry, a place where he witnessed transformation, forgiveness, and strength through God’s grace.
After several months, Daniel’s case was finally dismissed. Though deeply hurt, Daniel chose forgiveness over bitterness. Freedom, however, came with another trial: shortly after his release, his beloved father passed away.
In his grief, Daniel made a promise, to fulfill his father’s dream of seeing him become a licensed engineer. With very little time to prepare, and without attending any review center, he took the board exam. Guided only by his faith, he passed.
Today, Daniel Quisa-ot is a licensed Electrical Engineer, and more. At only 27 years old, he now holds four professional licenses from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC): Electrical Engineer, Master Electrician, Registered Master Plumber, and Certified Plant Mechanic.
His remarkable journey from prison to profession stands as living proof that no wall or injustice can imprison one’s destiny if guided by faith, perseverance, and purpose.
Daniel often shares the Bible verse that carried him through his darkest days: Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
For Daniel, faith was not just a comfort, it was his weapon. His message to those facing trials is simple yet profound: “Don’t give up. Even when life feels unfair and impossible, hold on to faith. God’s timing is perfect, and His plans are greater than our pain.”
Daniel Quisa-ot’s story reminds us all that success is not measured by how easy the journey is, but by how strong you remain when life tests your faith. Indeed, even behind bars, dreams can still take flight, when courage meets conviction, and when a man chooses to believe that God can turn even the darkest story into a shining testimony.
