In the Philippines especially, there are several “memorable years” because of powerful typhoons that left a deep impact on people’s lives. Here are a few examples:

2013 – Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan): One of the strongest typhoons in world history. It devastated Tacloban and other parts of the Visayas.

2009 – Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana): Caused severe flooding in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

2021 – Typhoon Odette (Rai): Affected Visayas and Mindanao, leaving major damage during the Christmas season.

2020 – Typhoon Ulysses (Vamco): Caused heavy floods in Luzon, especially in Marikina and Cagayan Valley.

2019 – Typhoon Tisoy (Kammuri): Strong winds and heavy rain affected the Bicol region.

2025- Typhoon TINO: ?

These years are “memorable always” because people remember the struggles, losses, and also the resilience and unity that came after.
