We thought those times would last forever...
Back when I was a teenager, every year after Noche Buena, all of my friends would gather and head straight to the computer shop.
The streets were quiet, most houses already asleep, but we were wide awake.
The computer shop owner would just scratch his head, smile a little, and let us in, as if he already knew this was part of our tradition.
We played Dota, League of Legends, Counter-Strike—you name it.
No pressure. No rush.
Just laughter, shared moments, and the game keeping us together.
We played until morning, or until our hearts were finally content.
Sometimes we won. Sometimes we lost.
But none of that really mattered. What mattered was that we were all there.
These are the days I always miss.
Because now, it’s rare.
Sometimes, it doesn’t happen at all.
We all grew up and took on responsibilities.
Some of my friends work far from home.
Some barely have time anymore.
Life slowly pulled us in different directions.
I will always miss those nights.
The simple happiness. The complete freedom. The feeling that time was on our side.
But life moves forward.
All we can do now is move on, carry those memories with us, and treasure the moments we were lucky enough to share.
