Sarah is the most successful Female Artist of her Era in the Philippines and the most influential, famous for her distinctive vocal ability. She has won many accolades including a World Music Award in 2014 for best-selling Filipino Artist, a Classic Rock Roll of Honour Award in 2016 for Best Asian Performer, an MTV Europe Music Award, a Billboard Women in Music Award, an Mnet Asian Music Award, a FAMAS Award for Golden Artist in 2009, 16 Awit Awards, 15 Star Awards and 28 Myx Music Awards. She was named by Tatler Magazine as one of the most influential people in Asia in 2021 and Billboard Philippines named her 'Woman of the Year' in 2024. As an actress, Sarah has won the Box Office Entertainment Award for Box Office Queen three times for her performances in the films 'A Very Special Love', 'You Changed My Life' and 'It Takes a Man and a Woman'. Her television acting credits include 'Sarah the Teen Princess', 'Bituing Walang Ningning', 'Pangarap na Bituin', and '1DOL'. Sarah was honoured with the Star Award for Movie Actress of the Year for her performance in 'Miss Granny', and was nominated in the same category for her roles in 'The Breakup Playlist' and 'Unforgettable'.
Born in Santa Cruz, Manila, Sarah first found fame after winning the TV talent show 'Star for a Night' in 2002. In 2003, she signed with Viva Records and released her debut studio album 'Popstar: A Dream Come True', powered by the hit singles "Forever's Not Enough" and "Sa Iyo". Sarah released her 3rd album 'Becoming' in 2006 powered by the hit singles "Carry My Love" and "I Still Believe In Loving You". At the third Manny Pacquiao vs. Erik Morales boxing match on November 18, 2006, Sarah was a huge hit, singing the Philippine National Anthem. Her studio album 'Taking Flight' was released in 2007 featuring the hit tracks "I'll Be Alright", "I'll Be Here" and "Ikaw". It received favorable reviews, with Sara being praised for reinventing her artistry. At the 2008 Myx Music Awards, "Ikaw" won Song of the Year! Sarah recorded covers on 'Music and Me' (2009) and 'One Heart'(2011), the latter of which also included original material and was supported by the singles "Sino Nga Ba Siya" and "Kung Siya ang Mahal". Sarah produced her tenth studio album 'Expressions' in 2013, which featured the lead single "Ikot-Ikot". Her 12th studio album, 'The Great Unknown' (2015), spawned the smash hit "Tala".
In 2018, Sarah released the studio album 'This 15 Me', a celebration of her 15-year career, featuring the singles "Sandata", "Ganito", and "Duyan". She embarked on a world tour which took her to the US and Dubai. Reviews highlighted and commended Geronimo's musical versatility, vocal abilities, and stage performance! From late 2019 to early 2020, "Tala" resurged in popularity due to its accompanying dance challenge and went viral, surpassing 140 million views on YouTube in June 2020! On February 14 and 15, 2020, Sarah and Filipino Legend, Regine Velasquez, co-headlined a two-date concert titled 'Unified'. Reviews praised Sarah's vocal abilities and performance, which earned her a nomination for Female Concert Performer of the Year at the 2022 Star Awards for Music! She was also co-awarded Best Collaboration in a Concert at the 2020 Aliw Awards. Five days after the concert, Sarah married long term fiancé Matteo Guidicelli in a private ceremony held in Taguig. After the wedding, Sarah went on a hiatus to create original music. During the hiatus, her livestream concert 'Tala: The Film Concert', was broadcast in 2021 on livestream, featuring rearrangements of her previously released songs and was shot at the Araneta Coliseum.
After a four-year hiatus from releasing music material, Sarah dropped her single "Dati-Dati" in October 2022 followed by "Cuore", her most personal song yet, co-written by her husband. Sarah released the single "Habang Buhay" in March 2023 to mark her 20-year Anniversary and headlined a concert at the Araneta Coliseum, where she debuted the single "My Mind" in collaboration with Billy Crawford, who co-wrote and co-produced the song. Sarah then released two collaboration singles: "Treading Water" with Bamboo and "Alam" with John Roa of the hip-hop group Ex Battalion. In March 2024, received the Global Force Award at the Billboard Women in Music event at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, California, making history, becoming the first Filipino to be honoured. At the Philippine edition of the event, Billboard Philippines named her as the Woman of the Year. On July 24, 2024 Sarah's cover of "Maybe This Time" charted on the Philippines Hot 100, marking her debut on the chart. The song eventually became a viral hit on TikTok. In December 2024, Sarah covered the Chappell Roan song "Good Luck, Babe!" on the Philippine variety program ASAP, which went viral!
Sarah is also a very successful businesswoman and co-founder of G Productions, a production company that produces concerts and shows. In 2023, Sara and her husband opened G Studios in Alabang, Muntinlupa for all advertising, media, and event needs. Sarah has also been a spokesperson for various brands, including Jollibee, TNT, Shopee, Banco de Oro and Sun Life Financial.
Sarah is also very much into charity and in 2013 she donated proceeds from her Perfect 10 concert to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda), one of the deadliest typhoons that ever hit the Philippines.
