MARINO PH | VLCC and Suezmax Collide Near Fujairah Amid Navigational Concerns

Two oil tankers, the VLCC Front Eagle and Suezmax Adalynn, collided Tuesday off the coast of Fujairah in the Gulf of Oman, sparking fires on both vessels. The UAE Coast Guard responded swiftly, evacuating all crew members from the Adalynn. No injuries or pollution have been reported.

Authorities have attributed the incident to a navigational error, ruling out hostile activity. The collision comes amid rising concerns over regional instability, particularly linked to the ongoing Israel–Iran conflict.

Recent reports have highlighted potential electronic interference affecting ship navigation in the area, though officials confirmed that this particular accident was not caused by such disruptions.
