𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡 | The General Orientation for freshmen at UC-METC is scheduled on August 2, 2025 at the UC-METC Covered Court, marking the start of the First Semester for Academic Year 2025–2026.

Schedule:
• BSMT: 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN
• BSMARE: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Attire: Type C Uniform (white t-shirt or polo shirt, long black pants, and black shoes)

Reminder: Attendance is mandatory for all incoming freshmen.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | Carnival Cruise Lines Reps Visit UC-METC for Cadet Screening Prep, Mass Hiring Plans

UC-METC welcomed representatives from Carnival Cruise Lines for a campus visit as part of the preparations for the upcoming cadet screening in 2026 and their plans for mass hiring of skilled workers for their fleet.

“It was the first time the Carnival team visited UC-METC, so we gave them a full tour of our training facilities,” C/M Guillermo Diluvio, Assistant Campus Director said.

From simulators to labs, they got to see firsthand the kind of hands-on training our cadets go through.

The visit is a big step toward strengthening our partnership with Carnival Cruise Lines and opening more opportunities for UC-METC cadets and graduates—whether as future deck and engine officers or skilled workers aboard their ships.

This engagement highlights our shared goal: to train world-class maritime professionals ready to take on global seas.

LOOK: University of Cebu – METC officials proudly witnessed the inauguration of Senator Crewing Manila (Cebu Branch), led by Capt. Jestoni Ryan Antoc—UC-METC alumnus and the youngest captain to helm vessels under Senator Crewing. Now taking the helm ashore, Capt. Our UC METC Alumnus Capt. Pierre Saint John M. Hangad Achieves Master Mariner at 29! Meet Capt. Pierre Saint John M. Hangad, a proud UC-METC alumnus who's redefined leadership by becoming a Master Mariner at the remarkable age of 29. His journey from 3rd Officer to captaining Panamax and Mini Cape Size Bulkers across global trade routes showcases an incredible blend of tenacity, belief, and resilience.
