ANNOUNCEMENT | 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

A student reorientation for all second-year and third-year Maritime students will be conducted on September 12, 2026 (Saturday) at the Covered Court, with the following schedule:

Morning: 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱-𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 (𝟴:𝟬𝟬𝗔𝗠-𝟭𝟮𝗡𝗡)
Afternoon: 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱-𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 (𝟭:𝟬𝟬𝗣𝗠-𝟱:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠)

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Sergio Osmeña Sr., a proud Cebuano leader whose wisdom, humility, and dedication to public service continue to inspire generations.

May his legacy remind us that true leadership is rooted in genuine service to the people.

Meanwhile, NO WORK and NO CLASSES across Cebu as the province commemorates Osmeña Day 2026 in honor of one of Cebu's most distinguished statesmen.

ᴛᴡᴏ ᴛʏᴘᴇꜱ ᴏꜰ ꜱᴛᴜᴅᴇɴᴛ: ꜱᴛᴏᴄᴋ ᴋɴᴏᴡʟᴇᴅɢᴇ ᴜɢ ꜱᴛᴜᴄᴋ ᴋɴᴏᴡʟᴇᴅɢᴇ

You know what they say: "Kung wala nigawas sa exam imo ge toun, ikaw nalang mismo mogawas" Pero what if wala gud kay na toun? Dili raba maka ask ni Tita Aguas og ting exam. There are two types of students: 2 weeks nag study and ready na mo sabak sa giyera. And the other, gasalig ra sa iyang stock knowledge, pero pag abot sa exam—na out of stock na. You can't bring fists to a gun fight and expect to win. This is a daily reminder that exams remind us of something important: preparation matters. We cannot always depend on stock knowledge, luck, or the hope that the questions will be easy. May man og si Rosmar ta nga e piyong ra ang Philosophy of man? Success is not just about how much you know, but how well you prepare, understand, and persevere.

Official University Advisory: Pursuant to the recent announcement of Mayor Archival, Basic Education (Kindergarten to Senior High School) across all UC campuses will continue to hold online classes (synchronous and asynchronous). Meanwhile, all College programs will conduct regular face-to-face classes.

Furthermore, all servicing departments shall continue to report for regular operations.

Please observe safety precautions.

PHOTO STORY | 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀

From the hills above Cebu, the city seems to dissolve into the horizon. High-rises that usually define its skyline are reduced to faint silhouettes, their outlines softened by a pale veil of haze settling over the communities below. What is normally a sweeping view of a restless, growing metropolis feels distant and muted.

The disruption was not only visible from above. As classes were suspended, students, parents, and teachers were forced to interrupt routines built around early commutes, crowded hallways, and full classrooms. For many, a day meant for lessons became a day of waiting—for announcements, for clearer skies, and for reassurance that it was safe to return. Cebu did not stop completely, but the haze made its presence felt everywhere—reminding us that something as invisible as the air can shape a city’s most ordinary day.

𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | The University of Cebu will maintain online classes across all levels and campuses, pursuant to Executive Order No. 105, Series of 2026.

Under the official advisory, learning will continue through both synchronous and asynchronous modes to ensure academic continuity.

Meanwhile, all servicing departments are directed to report for regular on-campus operations to maintain essential support services. University administration urged students, faculty, and personnel to prioritize safety while navigating the current arrangements.
