CEBU CITY EMPLOYEES ADVISED TO AVOID IDLING GOVERNMENT VEHICLES
March 10, 2026

The Office of the Vice Mayor has recommended that all Cebu City Hall employees and personnel using government vehicles refrain from leaving vehicles idling while parked or on standby. The directive aims to promote efficient fuel utilization and responsible use of government resources.

In a letter dated March 10, 2026, Vice Mayor Tomas R. Osmeña advised City Hall personnel to practice fuel conservation, especially in light of the recent increase in gasoline prices and the government’s commitment to prudent resource management.

The measure encourages all offices and personnel assigned government vehicles to ensure that engines are turned off when vehicles are not in active use.

According to the directive, any personnel found violating the recommendation may be subject to appropriate action in accordance with existing rules and regulations.

The recommendation was approved by Mayor Nestor D. Archival, reinforcing the Cebu City Government’s efforts to promote responsible resource management and operational efficiency across city offices.
