On this 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, we pause in solemn remembrance of the day Jesus’ body rested in the tomb, marking the space between sorrow and hope. It is a time of quiet reflection, deep prayer, and anticipation of the resurrection. As the world waits in silence, we honor this sacred moment of stillness and faith.

𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬: 𝐀 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬

During the film's second screening, Director Bryan Brazil shared some powerful words that resonated with the audience: "Yung Lost Sabungeros hindi lang to kwento ng mga sabungero, this is our story na dapat makita at mamulat ng bawat Pilipino. Magre-reflect din siya sa magiging desisyon sa bansa lalo na ngayong papalit ang eleksyon."

Brazil emphasized that the film is more than just a film about cockfighters. It is a film that encourages a deeper reflection on the decisions that will shape our future as a nation. The story of the missing sabungeros is not just a tale of loss, it is a tale of hope for those in pursuit of justice.

The talkback session that came after was an emotional one, as it gave one of the families of the lost sabungeros a platform to share their stories. 76-year-old Carmen Malaca, one of the families of the missing men, shared how much the film means to her, "Ito nalang ang paraan para hindi po makalimutan ng mga tao ang mga nangyari sa mga pamilya para makamit po namin ang hustisya."

Marco Romas, one of the writers of the film, encouraged the viewers to be protectors of truth, especially in times of adversity. His words remind everyone that in the age of misinformation, standing up for the truth is the only way forward.

The screening and talkback session was not just a film event, it is a call to action for everyone to make informed decisions.
