“Colors of Hope: An Exhibit for a Cause” Opens at SM Seaside City Cebu

A powerful celebration of art, compassion, and community takes center stage at SM Seaside City Cebu with the opening of "Colors of Hope: An Exhibit for a Cause", a special art exhibit running from October 10 to 24, 2025, at the Upper Ground Floor, Cube Wing of SM Seaside City Cebu.

Organized in partnership with the Friday Group Sessionistas, a collective of talented local artists, Colors of Hope brings together a meaningful collection of paintings that capture the themes of strength, courage, and hope — inspired by the real-life journeys of individuals facing breast cancer.

More than just a visual showcase, this exhibit serves a deeper purpose: all proceeds will benefit the ICanServe Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to breast cancer awareness and providing support for survivors across the Philippines.

Visitors are invited to experience the emotional depth and artistic expression of each piece, and to contribute to a cause that touches countless lives. DREAMS TAKE FLIGHT:
PAL Aviation School Pilot Trainees Depart for Australia Flight Training

Philippine Airlines (PAL) Aviation School, relaunched in early 2025 through a partnership with Australia-based Airways Aviation, has sent 14 pilot trainees from its AO Class 2025 Alpha to Australia for advanced flight training.

The send-off ceremony was held on September 28, 2025, at the Lucio K. Tan, Jr. (LKTJ) Center, attended by PAL officials and family members.

As part of the PAL Aviation School and Airways Aviation Australia collaboration, trainees will complete both theoretical and practical flight training at Airways Aviation’s Gold Coast campus in Australia, following their initial training in the Philippines.

"Through the halls of the PAL Aviation School pass the best and brightest pilots who continue to uphold the principles of discipline, professionalism, and commitment to duty," Capt. Roland Narciso, PAL Senior Vice President – Operations Group said.

"The PAL Aviation School maintains the highest standards of pilot training, equipping future aviators with the knowledge and skills necessary for commercial flight. Our partnership with Airways Aviation provides a strong foundation through innovative programs and state-of-the-art facilities," he added.

Established in the early 1960s, the PAL Aviation School has trained over a thousand pilots, shaping the professional landscape of the Philippine aviation industry.

Producing new pilots is essential to complement the expansion of the PAL fleet.

The airline will be receiving nine new A350-1000 aircraft, with the first delivery expected by the end of 2025 and the remaining eight arriving between 2026 and 2028. Thirteen new Airbus A321neo aircraft will be delivered in phases starting in 2026. PR

In light of the strong earthquake that struck the region on September 30, 2025, the Cebu Online News Press Corps is joining efforts with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce & Industry in a donation drive to support relief and recovery efforts in affected communities.

CCCI is actively coordinating with local government units, disaster response agencies, and other relevant organizations to assist in both immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts.

We are calling on the compassion and generosity of our fellow Cebuanos and partners to help provide urgently needed supplies such as food, drinking water, hygiene kits, sleeping mats, blankets, and other essential relief items.
