Russia Issues Arrest Warrants Against ICC Officials

MOSCOW, Russia — A court in Russia has sentenced the Chief Prosecutor and eight judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to prison terms in absentia.

ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan was sentenced to 15 years in prison, while the eight judges received sentences ranging from 3.5 to 15 years. Following this ruling, all nine officials were formally added to Russia’s wanted list.

According to analysts, this move by Russia is a direct retaliation. In 2023, the ICC issued a global arrest warrant against Russian President Vladimir Putin over allegations of war crimes related to the crisis in Ukraine.

This ruling by Russia is regarded as purely symbolic. Since Russia does not recognize the authority of the ICC, the country has no direct power to arrest these officials. However, the targeted individuals may face the threat of arrest only if they travel to countries allied with Moscow.

"I Feel Like I Was Deceived" — President Marcos Admits He Thought VP Sara Was His Friend

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. made what appeared to be a personal statement regarding his cooling relationship with Vice President Sara Duterte, after the Vice President admitted she did not consider the President a friend.

According to Marcos, he had long believed their relationship was genuine and in good standing, which is why he was surprised by Duterte’s recent remarks.

“I don’t know anymore. I’m not quite sure I understand. I always thought that we were friends, but maybe I was deceived,” Marcos said.

The growing rift between the country’s two highest officials has been the subject of discussion previously, following a series of public exchanges and differing stances on several political issues.

MARCOS ADMINISTRATION ACCUSED BY UNITED NATIONS OF USING ICC AGAINST FORMER PRESIDENT DUTERTE

A written submission was filed with the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), directly accusing the administration of allegedly using the International Criminal Court (ICC) as a tool for political warfare against former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and the opposition ahead of the 2028 elections.

According to the document, the allegations raised also include claims of a ₱20‑million bribery scheme related to the impeachment process, ghost flood control projects, the disappearance of billions of pesos in public funds, the supposed sale of the country’s gold reserves, and the purported use of the ICC to crush political rivals.

The submission also calls on the UNHRC to investigate the alleged arbitrary detention of former President Duterte and potential violations of the Rome Statute and other international laws.

It also challenges the figures on deaths linked to the war on drugs that are being used against him, stating that these numbers lack sufficient forensic and judicial verification.

As of this time, Malacañang has not yet released any official statement regarding the said submission.

DRUNK, Women FELL ASLEEP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD

A woman, reportedly heavily intoxicated and owing ₱63,000 in casino debts, fell asleep right in the middle of the road along B. Rodriguez Street, Cebu City earlier this morning.

According to reports, the woman came from a bar in Barangay Kasambagan and took a taxi. She was crying non‑stop during the ride; when the driver asked what was wrong, she revealed she owed money at a casino and said she had intended to jump off a bridge in that area.
