CCTO REVERSES COURSE: BAN-TAL FLYOVER REOPENED TO MOTORCYCLES
The Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) announced on their page on Thursday, August 6, that the Foodland Flyover in the Ban-Tal Discipline Zone has been reopened to motorcycles as of 8 AM, reversing course on their enforcement of the motorcycle ban at the flyover.
CCTO says that the measure is part of the ongoing implementation of the discipline zone to promote "safer and more orderly roads" for motorists.
The office also reminds motorcycle riders to follow traffic rules and safe driving, specifically requesting them to maintain their lane, avoid overtaking at the flyover, and obey traffic signs and traffic personnel instructions.
This comes a day after the strict implementation and enforcement of the Ban-Tal discipline zone saw several motorists stopped and issued citations for violations as well as complaints from motorists on social media calling the new traffic scheme as favorable for larger vehicles instead of smaller ones.
