Globe Business empowers Cebu enterprises to take the lead in digital disruption

Globe Business’ Glenn Estrella ,VP and Head of Business Development & Sales, led the fireside chat at
the G Summit Cebu 2025, along with Ambe Tierro, Country Managing Director, Accenture in the Philippines;
and Michelle Alarcon, President and Co-founder of the Analytics and AI Association of the Philippines.

Cebu, Philippines—Globe Business, the enterprise arm of Globe, brought its flagship G Summit event to Cebu for the second year in a row, convening top business leaders, digital experts, and technology partners across the Visayas region. Anchored on the theme “Disrupt”, the summit served as a call to action for local enterprises to lead transformation in a rapidly evolving digital economy.

Building on its Manila leg, G Summit Cebu highlighted disruption as an “always-on” business mandate, especially relevant for the region’s fast-growing industries, including tourism, logistics, BPO, manufacturing, and retail. With keynote talks, technology showcases, and insightful breakout sessions, the event challenged companies from the Visayas regions to go beyond adapting to change and instead shape it with urgency and purpose.

“The spirit of disruption is flourishing across the Philippines, and Cebu is a vibrant hub of this progress,” said Glenn Estrella, Vice President and Head of Business Development & Sales, Globe Business. “Our decision to continue bringing G Summit to Cebu reflects our belief in the immense potential of enterprises in the Visayas region to lead the next era of transformation. We aim for this gathering to be a platform where their strong digital ambitions and dynamic innovation ecosystem can further accelerate, driving meaningful impact across various sectors.”

Glenn Estrella, Vice President and Head of Business Development & Sales of Globe Business, emphasized
the need for regional businesses to embrace digital transformation with courage.

The event’s agenda featured expert perspectives on how organizations can operationalize disruption to drive continuous transformation and create future-proof businesses. These include:

Ambe Tierro, Country Managing Director of Accenture Philippines

Michelle Alarcon, President of the Analytics and AI Association of the Philippines

Tierro shared how Accenture enables organizations to harness AI and analytics to operate, compete, and grow in a complex business landscape. She highlighted how organizations can harness intelligent technologies to ignite innovation, sharpen decision-making and strengthen operational agility for sustainable growth.

Alarcon, a key voice across both G Summit runs this year, presented a compelling case for how data-driven thinking is reshaping regional businesses’ innovation. She asserted that true disruption is about radically redesigning your organization, underscoring the importance of turning analytics into actionable strategies. This is particularly crucial for dynamic growth hubs like Cebu that are scaling AI adoption rapidly in a digital-first economy. Ultimately, her talk explored how bold, ethical, and human-centered design empowers leaders to truly disrupt and thrive in today's AI-driven world.

Michelle Alarcon, President & Co-founder of Analytics and AI Association of the Philippines, shared insights on how data-driven thinking is crucial for enterprises in navigating today’s rapid digital transformation.

Spectrum Code
Building on its success at G Summit 2025's Manila leg, Globe Business brought the Spectrum Code to Cebu. This interactive in-app activity helped attendees discover their Core Persona—a unique reflection of their leadership style for accelerating their digital transformation. Participants were invited to identify the core business values that resonate most with them in driving digital disruption. Their responses formed a live "spectrum cloud" that provided a dynamic visualization of the collective mindset of Cebu's business leaders.

Based on their persona, attendees were recommended breakout sessions aligned with their specific needs and goals. Topics included cloud-first operations, cybersecurity, and innovation for business expansion. The sessions featured technology partners, including Google, ZScaler, Zimperium, Orca, Hexnode, Zoom Versa Networks, Aruba, Blackpanda, and Huawei.

Experience Labs
Another key highlight at G Summit Cebu 2025, Experience Labs served as an interactive demo space where Globe Business solutions were brought to life. Guests explored live use cases and expert walkthroughs, demonstrating how Globe Business’s ecosystem of partners enables secure cloud operations, proactive cyber defense, and AI-powered productivity. These innovations are made possible through Globe’s strong foundation of reliable connectivity, which remains its core service. The demos offered Visayas-based enterprises a tangible view of how these technologies can be applied to their own operations, reinforcing the role of digital transformation in driving business growth across the region.

Igniting Transformation in the Visayas
As disruption continues to redefine how organizations operate and compete, Globe Business calls on companies based in the Visayas region to lead boldly by embracing innovation, rethinking traditional models, and unlocking new opportunities through collaboration and technology.

“Disruption begins with leadership, and we believe that Cebuano business leaders can exemplify this through the choices they make every day,” Estrella emphasized. “Cebu has long been a launchpad for innovation in Visayas, and this summit reinforces that potential. G Summit is here to empower enterprises to lead with purpose. The future belongs to those who transform with courage, vision, and intent.”

Filipino youth empowered to “go for it” with Globe Student Fest 2025

Over 250 student leaders from all over the country, kicking off in Metro Manila, ignited their potential at Globe Student Fest 2025, a youth assembly engineered to empower the next generation to boldly chase their dreams.

This flagship youth movement, held at the Power Mac Center Black Box Theatre in Ayala Malls Circuit Makati, gathered students aged 18 to 23, creating a space to dive into their aspirations, forge vital connections with peers, and be captivated by individuals who pursued their dreams and transformed them into reality.

Anchored on the theme “Let’s go for that dream. Go for it,” the event motivated students to take the next step in their journeys, with Globe providing support through technology, opportunities, tools, and digital literacy. The program aims to stress the role of connectivity and innovation in youth building and community development.

“Globe Student Fest 2025 showed students what’s possible when passion meets opportunity. Through internships, mentorship, grants, and events, Globe helps Filipino students gain real-world experience and grow into future leaders,” said Roche Vandenberghe, Chief Marketing Officer.

The event featured three inspiring speakers who each represented a major academic strand: Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM), and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Singer-songwriter and producer Zack Tabudlo connected with HUMSS students through his presentation, “From Rejection to Recognition: Turning Setbacks into Soundtracks of Success, ” where he spoke about school and the early challenges he faced on the road to becoming a renowned music artist.

Student entrepreneur SojGamayon inspired ABM strand students with his talk, “Planting Hope and Harvesting Dreams: Using AI to Uplift the Filipino Farmer,” sharing how he built AgriConnect PH, an AI-powered platform helping local agribusinesses manage risk. In just 150 days, his startup won the Red Bull Basement World Finals, outshining 110,000 entries from 40 countries, and gained recognition in Silicon Valley for its potential to transform rural livelihoods. Soj reflected on his journey and hinted at future collaborations with tech enablers like Globe to scale impact through innovation.

Artist and tech influencer Mikael Daez, representing the STEM strand reached out to students through his session, “Leveling Up in Life: Turning Passions into Purpose in the Digital Age,” where he discussed how his curiosity for technology had piqued his interest towards dabbling in content creation, and how connectivity, access to information helped him.

Beyond the insightful talks, Globe curated engaging activities such as the immersive Dream Booth, where students captured their aspirations in short videos, stating their name, dream career, and commitment to their goals. Globe also facilitated connections through Human Bingo, an interactive game encouraging participants to meet new people, find peers with similar ambitions, and capture memories at the Dream Wall. Furthermore, Globe took the lead in introducing attendees to the Globe Community Builders Program, offering valuable opportunities including volunteer roles, internships, student grants, and ambassador positions.

Student-special offers in the form of Globe Rewards were also available through the GlobeOne app, where participants redeemed points for perks that match student needs and lifestyle.

Globe continues to create spaces where the student youth can learn, collaborate, and thrive, supporting not just their digital needs but also their aspirations in education, career, and creative expression.

Cebu Online News Press Corps Inducts New Members; Launches CONPC.TV and The Next Level Lifestyle Television Show

The Cebu Online News Press Corps (CONPC) recently held a meaningful gathering to officially induct new members and renew the commitment of existing members, reinforcing the group's mission to uphold ethical, responsible, and positive content creation. The event, hosted by Kasal.com, took place at the Ayala Center Cebu Activity Center on July 5, 2025. It opened with a founder's message from Mr. Robby Alugar, President of RMA News, who emphasized the importance of collaboration and truth-telling in today’s media landscape.

The occasion celebrated growth within the organization. In a bold step toward digital innovation, CONPC unveiled its plans for digital transformation with CONPC.TV, a new media platform launched in collaboration with JCAD TV. Ms. Julienne Guanzon, Station Manager of JCAD TV, provided the rationale and overview of CONPC.TV, a newly launched platform set to broaden CONPC’s digital presence.

The event also featured the soft launch of The Next Level Lifestyle television show. According to CONPC founder Robby Alugar, the channel will feature creative and news content produced by members, with opportunities for them to earn through exclusive segments and contributions.

Members of CONPC were formally introduced, leading to the highlight of the event: the induction of new members and the renewal of the oath of commitment for current members. The ceremony was a reaffirmation of their shared responsibility to deliver trustworthy news and creative content that matters.

“Your collective efforts have truly made a difference throughout the years of our group’s existence,” Alugar expressed in gratitude to its members, underscoring CONPC’s unity.

Ms. Lilu Alino, Managing Director of Lilu Ads and Board Trustee of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, delivered a congratulatory message, lauding the group’s resilience and growth.

“It’s hard to be in the media. There are many advantages, but there are also disadvantages. But this group is so resilient and so productive,” she said.

Alino emphasized the group's vital role in driving progress for Cebu. “We have a commitment to be ethical. We have to be responsible so that we will become resilient and continue to drive this city, this Cebu province into action,” she added, echoing the Cebu Chamber’s call: “Padayon Cebu. Let’s all progress.”

Ms. Marivic Bathan, President of Children's Paradise Montessori School, gave an inspiring speech, reminding members to always choose to be "the voices that truly matter and voices that transform."

“You are not just a press corps, you are a community of torchbearers,” she said. “You are called to be lights in the midst of darkness. Amplifiers of truth. Builders of bridges in a world that often divides.”

Marivic reminded the group of their vital role in shaping public trust. “Let every post, every video, every headline carry with it light, clarity, and above all, hope.”

The program concluded with the giving of tokens of appreciation to Ms. Lilu Alino, Ms. Marivic Bathan, and Ms. Maria Thelma Ong, Editor-in-Chief of Kasal.com, in recognition of their support and partnership.

In an exclusive interview, Ong stressed the significance of the Kasalan at Kotilyon 2025 Wedding Expo, calling weddings "a once-in-a-lifetime event" that holds deep meaning in every Filipino’s life.

Ong shared that the expo carefully curates all its suppliers to ensure couples are connected to trustworthy partners. “Each supplier undergoes a review process, we check their business papers, portfolios, and industry reputation to ensure quality and avoid scams,” she explained.

Now in its 19th year nationwide, the event is expected to welcome around 1,000 guests. Ong also emphasized the value of their partnership with the Cebu Online News Press Corps (CONPC), saying it helps promote their advocacy for Cebu Wedding Tourism and reach more communities.

The Cebu leg of Kasalan at Kotilyon 2025 drew a crowd with wedding promos. Jehd Ombos, Senior Sales Manager of Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark, Cebu, shared exclusive wedding deals at Kasalan at Kotilyon 2025, offering packages from ₱2,000 per head with free deluxe rooms. “When you book 100 persons guaranteed, you can avail of three deluxe rooms for free,” he said. The hotel saw strong interest, with bookings exceeding 10 couples by lunchtime on the expo’s opening day.

Similarly, Golden Prince Hotel and Suites unveiled exclusive wedding promos at the expo, offering affordable, customizable packages for soon-to-weds.

“We offer a Wedding Dress-Up Package with room choices like the Royal Suites and the Golden Prince Suite,” Hershey Herrera-Canonigo, PR & Marketing Manager, Golden Prince Hotel, shared.

The hotel also offers pod share options for entourages, with weekday and weekend rates, plus freebies like food and drinks for stag parties and bridal showers.

“What’s good is when you book our function halls, we also offer a free overnight stay for the couple,” Hershey added. Hershey noted growing interest from couples seeking DIY-style, personalized weddings. “At Golden Prince, we always promote a unique, one-and-only experience.”

First-time exhibitor Patricia Rachel Farrarons-Akomo of PRF Events found the wedding expo a great space for wedding suppliers to share what they can do and offer. “Kasalan at Kotilyon has become a platform for that.
