Everyone is talking about the latest viral "gold medalist" scandal, and my feed is full of people asking for sympathy and questioning the morals of those spreading the video. They ask, "Don't these people have mothers or sisters?"
But let’s look at the hard truth of the era we live in: We are in the age of cyber-content where views are currency and privacy is a myth.
While people are quick to defend the "victims," we have to be realistic. This isn't the first time a video has leaked online. In 2026, everyone knows the risks. If you record it, there is always a chance it gets out—whether through a hack, a lost phone, or a betrayal of trust.
We cannot keep blaming the "spreaders" for the fire when people are the ones providing the fuel. The couple knew what they were doing, and in this digital world, actions have consequences that no amount of "sympathy" can delete.
