Happening: July 22, 2025 | Virgen de los Remedios Parish, Cebu City

The Cebu Institute of Technology – University (CIT-U) Community Extension Services (CES), in collaboration with the Priority Advisory Group, and Australian Financial Advisory Company, joyfully carried out an outreach program dedicated to the Grade 4 CES scholars and children in the partner community.

Held at the Virgen de los Remedios Parish, the event was filled with laughter and excitement as the children enjoyed a short but meaningful program that included interactive games, engaging activities, and delicious food prepared especially for them. This initiative aimed to promote social development, uplift the spirits of the children, and strengthen CIT-U’s commitment to holistic and compassionate community service.

This outreach was made possible through the invaluable support and sponsorship of the Priority Advisory Group and Australian Financial Advisory Company. Their presence and participation demonstrated not only generosity but a shared vision of empowering young minds and uplifting communities through shared joy and purposeful giving.

Basa Isla Bantayan Foundation: Igniting a Lifelong Love for Learning

Under the leadership of VP-CEO Frankie Villacastin-Despi, the Basa Isla Bantayan Foundation continues to flourish as a volunteer-driven initiative founded by passionate and well-meaning Bantayanons. The foundation is deeply committed to promoting and nurturing the reading habits of children and young adults across Bantayan Island, with the goal of inspiring a lifelong love for learning and literacy.

In support of this meaningful advocacy, Cebu Institute of Technology – University (CIT-U) generously donated books to the foundation. We extend our heartfelt thanks to CIT-U President Engr. Bernard Nicolas E. Villamor, Vice President for Administration Mr. John Gregory B. Escario, and Vice President for Academic Affairs Atty. Corazon E. Valencia for their invaluable support.

Spearheaded by CES Head Dr. Luni N. Villacastin, CES Coordinator Mr. Jason Lim, and Mrs. Jeanette Lim, the CES Team successfully conducted a heartfelt turnover of books and school supplies to various schools across the island.

In collaboration with Basa Isla Bantayan, the outreach initiative included meaningful visits to Guiwanon Elementary School, Sungko Elementary School, and Cebu Technological University (CTU) Bantayan Campus.

Our sincere gratitude goes out to everyone who supported and contributed to this inspiring cause. Together, we are building a brighter future—one book, one child, and one community at a time.
