Belcris Foods, Inc., a leading name in Cebu’s frozen meat industry, recently hosted Mactan-based bloggers, content creators, and online media at their facility, offering an in-depth look into the company’s legacy, product lineup, and future goals. After two decades of primarily serving the business-to-business (B2B) market, Belcris is now poised to offer its high-quality meats directly to consumers in Cebu and nearby regions.
“We’ve built strong partnerships with hotels, resorts, and restaurants over the years,” said Ina Archival Dela Cerna, Belcris’ Marketing Manager, during the plant tour. “But with shifting consumer habits post-pandemic, we’re excited to make our products available for households across the region.”
Built on Quality and Tradition
Founded in 1997 by Antonio and Miking Dy, Belcris Foods began as a small family business operating out of their home, with a team of just three employees producing their first products: Taiwanese sausage, Ba-hoo, and pork tapa. By 2002, the couple’s third child, Christine Un, had taken over as General Manager, steering the brand toward significant growth. Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa became their first major client, establishing Belcris as a trusted supplier of premium bacon.
Today, Belcris Foods is a staple in Cebu households, recognized for its quality products like bacon, tocino, ham, and corned beef—all carefully crafted with an emphasis on taste, food safety, and affordability. Known across the hospitality industry, Belcris is now gaining traction among consumers looking for reliable, high-quality meat products for their own kitchens.
Pioneering Safety Standards with a New Facility
In preparation for its consumer-market expansion, Belcris Foods has unveiled a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Mandaue City, designed to further elevate food safety practices. The company already holds an ISO 9001:2015 certification for Quality Management and is now working toward ISO 22000 certification, a global standard for food safety management.
