The eagerly anticipated follow-up to the 2013 sci-fi blockbuster After Earth has been revealed by Sony Pictures. Will Smith and Jaden Smith will play Cypher and Kitai Raige again in the sequel, After Earth 2, which will explore new areas on an Earth that humanity has regained. With a bold return to the franchise that has developed a devoted cult following in the years since its debut, the movie is scheduled to open in theaters on June 19, 2026.
Set 15 years after the events of the original film, the sequel follows Kitai Raige, now an experienced ranger, as he returns to Earth on a mission to secure humanity’s future.
