Lately, I’ve been thinking about those vacation days — the ones that slipped by too quickly but somehow left their mark. I remember waking up early, just to make it to the free breakfast, still half asleep but already happy. The air felt different then — softer, saltier, like it belonged to another kind of life. I’d wander out with messy hair and no real plan, torn between a swim in the pool or the ocean just a few steps away.
Everything felt slower in the best possible way. The sun seemed to linger longer, the hours stretched just enough. Bikinis hung over the balcony railing, still damp from the day before. Random cafes became little discoveries — chipped mugs, strong coffee, strangers who felt like background characters in a story I never wanted to end. Every day was a mix of sunburn, laughter, and that calm silence you only find when you’re far from home.
Evenings always crept in too soon. We’d watch the sky turn gold and pink, pretending not to notice how fast it was fading. My skin was warm, my hair tangled, my mind empty in the best way — nothing to chase, nothing to fix. Just being there, fully.
Now, when life gets noisy, I catch myself missing that rhythm. The way time used to stretch, the simplicity of those days, the way the sea made everything feel small and right at the same time. Some moments you don’t realize are special until they’re gone — and those? Those were everything.
