We often hear it from those who love us most: “Follow your heart. Do what makes you happy. We’ll always be here to support you.”
It’s advice born out of care, but Scripture reminds us that the heart, while full of passion, can also mislead: “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9).
The Messiahi calls us to something deeper: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23). Sometimes, that means letting go of what we love most—not because love is wrong, but because Adonai's love is greater.
💡 Truth: Following your heart may bring happiness, but following The Messiah brings eternal joy.
🌿 Encouragement: Support from family and friends is a blessing, but the greatest support comes from the One who promises, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5).
✨ Closing thought: Maybe the truest way to “follow your heart” is to first give it to our Almighty Father. Because when He holds it, every step we take is not just toward happiness, but toward holiness.
