"Your crush can wait. Your parents' sacrifices cannot."

Since newly started pa man ang classes, I just want to share a simple reminder to all students.

Having a crush, being in love, or being in a relationship is normal. We've all been there. But always remember, love can wait, your education cannot.

As you begin another school year, set your priorities right. Before making someone your world, look at the people who have already made YOU their world. Your parents, guardians, grandparents, and loved ones who work tirelessly and sacrifice so much just to give you an education. Some even leave their families and work abroad so you can have a better future.

Ayaw ninyo usiki ang ilang sakripisyo.

Sa among panahon sauna, lahi gyud kaayo. 😂

Tinood man nga nag-uyab2x pud ko since first year high school. Pero conservative kaayo ko. Hadlok ko maggunit-gunit ug kamot uy, tapad2x, or madikit man lang!

Pero kabalo mo unsay nakalahi?

We never allowed love to become a distraction from our dreams.

I met my husband, Ed, on the first day of high school in 2007. It was a crush-at-first-sight kind of story. 😜

We liked each other, eventually became a couple, but we never allowed our relationship to distract us from our studies.

We focused on our goals, graduated from college, became professionals, helped our families, and built the future we once dreamed of. The best part? The love stayed.

Today, after all these years, we're living proof that when love is real, it doesn't stop you from growing, it grows with you.

So as this new school year begins,

You study hard, focus on your goals, and make your parents proud.

Because if it's true love, it will still be there when you've finished building your future.

For those working from home, how many playlists do you get through in a whole shift? Who can relate to being alone at home, only opening your mouth when there’s a meeting? 😆

Sometimes I really wonder…
“Ngano murag lahi na kaayo akong energy compared before?”

Before, I was active, motivated, and always on the go.
Pero karon, lahi na kaayo…

Perme drained pagkamata.
Dali ma-kapoy bisag gamay ra buhaton.
Grabe cravings (hello sweets 🍫🍰).
Usahay productive kaayo, usahay wala jud gana.
Higda kadiyot, lami na dili nalang mubangon

Pero naa pud days nga kalit ra ko ka-okay and energetic 💪

So I always ask myself… “normal pa ba ni or ako ra ni?”

Then I heard that many women experience this due to hormonal imbalance like PMOS.

And honestly, it made me feel seen.
Dili diay ko tinapolan. Dili diay ko weak. Pero unsaon man jud pagbalik sa dati uy.

To anyone going through the same thing, you’re not alone. 🤍

Comment if you can relate ug unsa inyong buhaton.

Kinsa pa'y naka-experience ani, or knows someone struggling with anxiety or depression? 💔

Before, as an extrovert, lisod kaayo ni nako sabton. I am surrounded with friends who are dealing with this.

I used to think...

"Ngano sige man siya ug overthink?"

"Ngano di man niya ma-control iyang huna2x?"

But the more I listened, the more I realized...

Anxiety and depression are real.

They're not being OA.

They're not weak.

And they're not seeking attention.

You don't know their story.

Their trauma.

Or the battles they're fighting in silence.

I experienced a glimpse of it myself because of PCOS.

There were days nga makahilak ko without even knowing why.

And that's when I understood...

Some people are fighting battles you can't see.

So before judging someone, choose kindness.

Sometimes they don't need advice.

Sometimes they just need someone who listens.

Not everyone who is smiling is okay.

Some are laughing, posting, and showing up every day.

But deep inside, they're struggling.

Be kind. You never know what someone is carrying.

And if you're the one struggling right now,

Please don't suffer in silence.

Talk to someone, reach out, and ask for help.

You don't have to carry everything alone.

If you know someone who needs to read this, share it. You might help more people than you realize.

Recently, I was asked to settle part of my mama's hospital bill first (over 10k) before certain medicines could be released and before some laboratory tests could be done. And that was just upon admission.

That moment hit me hard.

Because while you're worried about your loved one getting better, you're also worrying about money.

And I couldn't stop thinking...

What about those who only have ₱1,000 or less in their pocket?

What about those who don't have savings and insurance?

What about those who don't have relatives to call for help?

Getting sick is already painful.

Being unable to afford treatment is even worse.

In many private hospitals, almost everything requires payment first.

Laboratory tests.

X-rays.

Admission.

Medicines.

I understand that hospitals also have costs and need to operate.

But how many families have lost precious time trying to find money during a medical emergency?

How many patients have suffered because they couldn't immediately afford the tests needed to diagnose them?

Then people say:

"Adto nalang sa public hospital."

But those who have experienced it know the reality.

Long queues.

Limited beds.

Overcrowded wards.

Limited facilities.

Hours of waiting.

And when you're sick, every minute matters. Mao na uban mamatay nalang tawn.

Then there are families with insurance, only to discover that after a few days in the hospital, the bill has already reached hundreds of thousands of pesos.

And let's be honest.

PhilHealth helps, but for many families, the coverage is still far from enough.

After years of paying contributions, many are surprised to find that the deduction only covers a small portion of the total bill.

This is why I wish our government would focus more on healthcare.

Less politics.

Less corruption.

More hospitals.

Better facilities.

More equipment.

More healthcare workers.

Stronger PhilHealth benefits.

Because no Filipino should have to choose between saving a life and paying the bills.

The sad reality is this,

Many Filipinos are just one serious illness away from financial disaster.

If you're able to prepare through savings, life insurance, or emergency funds, start while you can.

Because illness doesn't wait until we're financially ready. Calling our government officals to take actions. 🇵🇭💔

Kinsa’y ka-relate ani? 😅 I thought pag 30 na, sorted na ang life…

Pero once you get there, reality hits different.

Mao diay ni ang adulting.

You start to realize…

You can afford food, pero suddenly bawal na ang too much oily food.

Friday nights? Dili na party… recovery night na.

You buy for comfort, not for validation.

Sleep becomes precious.

Peace of mind becomes more important than proving a point.

Small circle, less drama, more real ones.

You stop chasing people and start choosing yourself.

And then it hits you…

Life is not about rushing success.

It’s about building something real:

A healthy body, calm mind, stable income, people who feel like home, and waking up without anxiety.

Because in your 30s, you learn this truth,

Life is not a race.

Some are getting married.
Some are starting over.
Some are still figuring things out.
Some are quietly rebuilding.

And all of it is valid.

Don’t compare your Chapter 3 to someone else’s Chapter 20.

You’re not late, not behind.
You’re just on your own timing.

Keep going. ❤️
