𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑚𝑒: “𝐴𝑠𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑜 𝑁𝑒𝑔𝑜𝑠𝑦𝑜, 𝐴𝑛𝑔𝑎𝑡 𝐾𝑎𝑏𝑢ℎ𝑎𝑦𝑎𝑛: 𝐵𝑎𝑔𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑃𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑠”

The City Government of Butuan proudly concluded its MSME Week Celebration 2025 through a meaningful Culminating Program, wrapping up a week filled with empowerment, collaboration, and inspiration for the city’s micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs.

Throughout the week, MSMEs were engaged through a series of targeted activities:

📌 Day 1: MSME Summit – Bridging Support: Government Programs and Services for MSMEs
📌 Day 2: Financing and Financial Forum – Linking MSMEs with financing institutions and financial literacy tools
📌 Day 3: Digital Transformation – Embracing digital tools and strategies for business success
📌 Day 4: Business Forum – Exploring local opportunities and strategic positioning in Butuan’s growing economy

The Culminating Program was graced by distinguished guests who delivered heartfelt messages of support and appreciation for the hardworking MSMEs and partner agencies behind the successful week-long celebration:

✨ Ms. Elrikki Sam Nautan, Vice President of the Butuan City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (BCCCIFI)
✨ Hon. Gian Carlo Sanchez, Sangguniang Panlungsod Member and Committee Chair on Economic Enterprise, Trade and Industry, and Cooperatives
✨ Ms. Daisy Mala, Acting Department Head of the City Economic and Business Development Department (CEBDD)

The highlight of the program was the Recognition and Awarding Ceremony, honoring Outstanding MSMEs and individuals who have shown exceptional performance, innovation, and dedication in contributing to the economic development of Butuan City. Awards were presented for the following:

🏆 Gawad Parangal 2025 – National Qualifiers for the Micro, Small, Medium, and Large Cooperative Category
🏆 Highest Gross Sales for 2024 – Recognizing top-performing Small and Medium Enterprises
🏆 DOST MSME Awardees – Businesses supported through science and technology innovation
🏆 Top Taxpayer of the City (2024) – Acknowledging the highest-contributing MSME in local taxes
🏆 Special Awards for Individuals – Recognizing active participation and valuable contributions during Balangay Festival 2025

This culminating event is not only a celebration of achievements but also a reaffirmation of our collective commitment to uplift and empower MSMEs as vital players in building a Bagong Pilipinas—where inclusive growth and shared prosperity take center stage.

This activity is spearheaded by the City Economic and Business Development Department (CEBDD) in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Agusan del Norte and the Butuan City MSME Development Council.

MORE THAN 112 MILLION FILIPINOS!

The Commission on Population and Development (CPD) notes the result of the 2024 Census of Population declared through Proclamation 973. The official population count of the Philippines is now at 112,729,484.

The numbers are higher by more than 3 Million from the 109,035,343 Million Filipinos in the 2020 Census.

Human capital development is our overall framework in pursuing responsible parenthood and family planning. This is our means in improving families’ capacity to exercise their reproductive rights. Such also enables greater competence in investing in the education and health of the people. Hand in hand with reproductive rights, are the couple’s productive functions that are expected to result in improved socioeconomic conditions in the present and in the long run.

At 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm "CRISING" {WIPHA} was estimated based on all available data at 110 km West Northwest of Calayan, Cagayan (19.8°N, 120.6°E), with maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 115 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 25 km/h. Southwest Monsoon affecting Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗪𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡:
Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains
