The much-anticipated Tug of War competition displayed raw strength, strategy, and a bit of comedy, as colleges clashed in a series of thrilling matches, peaking in a dramatic showdown between the College of Business and Accountancy (CBAA) and the College of Technology (CTECH).

Opening Rounds : Power Meets Planning

The competition began with an intense match between the College of Nursing (CN) and the College of Engineering (COE). What started as a high-stakes 30-second battle of sheer strength concluded with the COE students gaining the upper hand and securing a well-fought win. In the following game, brains ruled over brawn as CTECH went up against the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) — with accurate teamwork and calculated moves, CTECH outsmarted their opponents and came out triumphant. The clash between CHTM and CBAA was brief, as the CHTM students unexpectedly gave up midway through the match. This resulted in a seamless advance to the semifinals for CBAA, highlighting their early dominance. One of the most gripping contests occurred between CPAD and CAS, where neither team was willing to give in. The rope swayed back and forth in a tense deadlock, but ultimately, CPAD narrowly defeated the CAS to earn their spot in the semifinals.

Semifinals : Coordination is Key

The semifinals featured a clash between COE and CTECH in a match many anticipated would be a straightforward showdown of brute strength. Yet, it was CTECH’s cohesive teamwork that took center stage, surpassing COE raw power through synchronized movement and precise timing. Meanwhile, CBAA went head-to-head with CPAD in a much-awaited face-off. Demonstrating a combination of strength and tactical insight, CBAA stood firm and gradually secured their spot in the finals, marking their reputation as a leading contender.

Finals : Soaring Eagles

The grand finale between CTECH and CBAA was more than just a test of strength, it was an entertaining spectacle marked by a playful, nearly comedic tone. The crowd erupted in cheers as both teams displayed spirited energy and commendable sportsmanship, bringing an element of fun to the high-stakes competition. Ultimately, it was CBAA’s well-synchronized teamwork and calmness under pressure that secured their championship triumph.

Final Standings:
🥇 Champion: CBAA
🥈 Runner-Up: CTECH
🥉 Semifinalists: COE, CPAD

From surprising upsets to strategic masterclasses, this year’s Tug of War proved that it takes more than strength to win, it takes heart, coordination, and a team that pulls together, ending the game with a win.

Among one of the most anticipated events at Laro ng Lahi 2025, the Limbo Rack had the crowd electrified as participants limboed, showcasing agility and flexibility, drawing cheers with every daring move under the lowering bar. In an amusing display of pliability, balance and determination — Marc Johnlen P. Laigue outlasted tough contenders together with his impeccable technique from five other colleges — College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA), College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM), College of Engineering (COE), and College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), during this year’s Limbo Rack competition.

This accomplishment is an addition to CTE’s increasing medal tally as this year’s Intramurals continue.
