High above the quiet highlands of Barangay Licungan, the clouds rested gently on the shoulders of the mountains. From the hilltop, the whole world seemed peaceful. A silver river curved slowly through the valley like a long ribbon, reflecting the soft light of the sky.
In the small cluster of houses below, people were already awake. Farmers walked through the green fields everyday to work and children laughed as they don’t have any problems. Life in Licungan was simple, but the beauty surrounding them made every day feel special.
One morning, a girl named Prema climbed the grassy hill where the tall wild plants danced with the wind. It was her favorite place. From there, she could see the winding river, the tall cliffs, and the tiny colorful rooftops of her village.
As Prema looked across the valley, thick clouds slowly drifted over the mountains, as if the sky itself was hugging Licungan. The river sparkled far below, whispering its quiet song through the valley.
She thinks that
“Licungan is protected by the mountains. As long as we respect the land, the river, and the forest, this place will always take care of us.”
Standing there, Prema felt proud of her home even there’s a lot of gossip that can destroy. The highlands wasn’t just beautiful—it held the stories of generations, the laughter of families, and the promise that nature and people could live together in harmony.
And as the clouds slowly covered the mountain peaks, Barangay Licungan is not just a place in the map it is a peaceful home rested peacefully beneath the sky, and where every sunrise brings a new story to tell.
