Engr. Nelia Verzosa's journey with UNP began as a determined student, eager to learn and explore her potential.
Over her 30 years of service at UNP, she has taken on various roles, steadily contributing her expertise, and leadership, eventually rising to become the Dean of the College of Engineering. Along the way, she has also been a proud mother to her children, who have already graduated and continue to make her proud every day.
Today, Engr. Verzosa balances her professional dedication with a carefree, joyful side, often seen vlogging, sharing her experiences, and embracing life with the same warmth and energy she brings to her work. Her journey reminds us that perseverance, heart, and a love for life leave a lasting impact on everyone around you.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | UNP Launches Library Book Fair in Celebration of 60th Founding Anniversary

Vigan City, Ilocos Sur — The University of Northern Philippines officially opened its 2025 Library Book Fair, October 8, at the UNP Main Library through a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by University President Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Rolando V. Navarro.

The event marked the beginning of a three-day celebration of the university’s 60th Founding Anniversary, highlighting reading, learning, and discovery. It showcased a variety of books, ranging from academic references to leisure reads, giving both students and faculty members the opportunity to explore new materials and rediscover the joy of printed books.

Under the initiative of the UNP Library, the book fair continues to inspire both students and faculty to explore new ideas, cultivate curiosity, and embrace the joy that comes with reading.

The Engineering Jaguars got back on track after a temporary snag following a winning point against Red Tigers on a 3x3 Women’s Basketball here at Tamag Court, Vigan City.

The Jaguars created no escape on the ground until the last winning record and their flaming courage didn't let the Tigers step into the aisle of triumph leading into a above scores with Dequit-Pimentel-Semilla holding the rock, with the backing of the supporting coaches Engr. 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | UNP Honors 60 Years of Academic Excellence Through Invitational Competitions

The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) marked its 60th Founding Anniversary with the Invitational Academic Quiz and Spelling Bee Competition held on October 8, from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. at the Tadena Hall and CTECH Function Hall.

A total of 42 institutions from Districts I and II participated in the contest, which featured elementary, high school, and college levels. Each level included easy, average, and difficult rounds.

The event opened with a prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the UNP Hymn. Dr. Remedios Navarro, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, emphasized that the contests have long been a highlight of the university’s foundation celebration—showing UNP’s commitment to quality education and resilience.

“Learning is a continuous journey,” said Dr. Rolando Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs.
University President Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna added that everyone is “already a winner” for joining the celebration of knowledge.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | CFAD Opens “Ladawan” Exhibit Celebrating 60 Years of Art and Heritage

In celebration of the University of Northern Philippines’ 60th Founding Anniversary, the College of Fine Arts and Design (CFAD) officially opened its art exhibition titled “Ladawan: Pinagpateg ken Pinagyaman ti Nadumaduma nga Henerasyon” on October 8, at the third floor of the CFAD Building.

“Ladawan,” which means portrait or image in Ilocano, features an impressive collection of paintings and crafts created by CFAD students, alumni, and faculty members. The exhibition showcases the artists’ exceptional skills and their ability to blend traditional and contemporary styles that reflect Filipino identity and culture.

Serving as one of the highlights of the university’s Diamond Jubilee celebration, the exhibit underscores CFAD’s commitment to artistic excellence and cultural education. It also emphasizes the important role of art in preserving and expressing Filipino heritage.

Visitors are invited to explore the exhibition throughout the anniversary celebration and appreciate the creativity and passion that define the UNP art community. The Engineering Jaguars roared back in wake of loss after an ablazing heat match after clawing their way out against Red Tigers in the 3x3 Men’s Basketball match here at Tamag, Vigan City, 9-7.

The rage of a Jaguar has been unfolded as they slowly began to retrieve their records leading to a winning record in the hands of Garcia-Viloria-Dar-Ramos as they clutched their very best to splash the Tigers’ determination to reciprocate records.

The COE Jaguars (Unit VII) fell short in their opening match against the CBAA Eagles (Unit IV) in the 3x3 Men & Women Basketball match held this morning at Tamag Court in Vigan City, 10-12, 4–7.

Despite their strong effort, the Jaguars struggled to find their rhythm throughout the game but remain determined to bounce back in their upcoming matches. The Jaguars remain eager to regroup and come back stronger in their next game with their total backing coaches Engr. Paul Joshua Valencia & Engr. Paul Rommel Valencia for men, and Engr.
