: TYPHOON NANDO, PARTLY INTENSIFIED; POSSIBLE LANDFALL IN BABUYAN ISLANDS
Tropical Storm Nando slightly strengthened while moving in the ocean covered by the Philippine Sea, according to PAGASA in the bulletin at 5:00 PM, September 19.
The center of the typhoon was last observed 905 km east of Central Luzon, with winds of 85 kph near the center and gusts of 105 kph. It's moving west northwest at 10 kph.
No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal has been raised yet, but Signal No. 1 is expected to raise in Northern Luzon tomorrow morning. It will likely intensify as a typhoon tomorrow and become a super typhoon on Monday, before approaching or landfall in Babuyan Islands between Sept. 22β23.
It will also bring heavy rains and southerly winds starting Sunday, affecting Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The public and local governments are advised to be prepared and continue to monitor further PAGASA notices.
